All The Mature Skin-Friendly Makeup Picks We Spied At The Met Gala

In a whirlwind of all things glitz and glam, the Met Gala has come and gone for another year. But we’re simply not ready to let it be over just yet. We’ll be sifting through all the incredible makeup looks for days to come, analysing what products were used, and how we can get our hands on them!

And on our mission to discover all things Met Gala beauty, we came across two of our favourite beauties wearing one of our all-time fave brands. Yep, the cat’s out of the bag: Charlotte Tilbury has earned not only iconic ‘worn at Met Gala’ status but also garnered a seal of approval from two of our most beloved beauty icons: Sarah Jessica Parker (i.e. the Queen of couture) and Demi Moore (a true hair goals goddess).

So let’s see exactly what makeup was used to create their mature skin-friendly Met Gala looks…

Sarah Jessica Parker’s Met Gala Makeup

Like we said, both SJP and Demi’s makeup artists chose to solely use Charlotte Tilbury to create their iconic looks.

For her look, SJP turned to long time makeup artist Elaine Offers Woulard. And while its clear all of Charlotte Tilbury’s makeup is mature skin-friendly, we’ll be focusing on the products both artists used around the eyes – because isn’t that just the most annoying part?

To create a crisp, clean eye look, Elaine took two shades (5 and 8.5) of the Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin Radiant Concealer ($51 at Charlotte Tilbury) under and around SJP’s peepers. The creamy concealer worked to brighten and lift the look.

Let’s start the actual eye look. Elaine chose to use Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerize in ‘Champagne’ ($50 at Charlotte Tilbury) as a primer; opting for a creamy shadow as a base gave SJP’s eyeshadow a shimmery depth.

Okay, so now we’re getting to the good part! And before we get into it, we’ve got to let you know: Elaine was committed to creating depth. Layering a mix of cream and powder shadows ensured SJP’s eyes not only stood out on the red carpet, but also, helped the look stay put all night long.

The initial colour and shaping (think cut crease and liner shaping) was done with Charlotte Tilbury Colour Chameleon Eye Pencils, firstly in the shade ‘Golden Quartz’ ($45 at Charlotte Tilbury) and then in shade ‘Dark Pearl’ ($45 at Charlotte Tilbury). Next, Elaine set it all in with shadow shades from two of Charlotte Tilbury’s Luxury Palettes. Although we don’t know exactly which shades she used, we know that she opted for smokier tones from ‘The Rock Chick’ ($89 at Charlotte Tilbury) and gave SJP some warmth from ‘The Rebel’ ($89 at Charlotte Tilbury) palette.

Elaine then finished the look off with two coats (because one is never enough) of Pillow Talk Push Up Mascara ($48 at Charlotte Tilbury). Stunning!

Demi Moore’s Met Gala Makeup

Our darling, daring Demi. Can she do any wrong? We think this Met Gala look proves she cannot! For her Met Gala look, Demi put her face (literally) in the hands of celeb-loved makeup artist Kristofer Buckle.

Much like Elaine with SJP, Kristofer chose the gorgeously creamy and ultra-hydrating Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin Radiant Concealer ($51 at Charlotte Tilbury). But when it came to the eye look itself, Kristofer opted for a less is more approach.

Kristofer opted to take just two products across Demi’s lids, not including the lash-lifting Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Push Up Mascara ($48 at Charlotte Tilbury) of course. Unfortunately for us, Kristofer chose to use the since-discontinued Charlotte Tilbury Matte Eyes to Mesmerise in ‘Chocolate Veil’ as a creamy shadowy-base. But the bad news stops there, as the beautiful pinky shades of the Charlotte Tilbury Luxury Palette in ‘Walk of No Shame’ ($89 at Charlotte Tilbury) transformed her lids with an elegant dress-matching wonder.

See we told you! Charlotte Tilbury has the mature skin-friendly tick of approval from some of the biggest names in Hollywood (and more importantly their makeup artists).
