Will I ever be shine-free?!

Can anyone recommend any foundation that won’t make my face shiny after a few hours?! I’ve tried and tried all matte, shine-free, oil-free, bloody everything-free products and no matter what, my face just seeps out oil and ruins my make-up! I am so sick and tired of looking like I’ve dipped my face in a fast-food oil vat. And those blotting papers don’t do me any good as well. Am I cursed to live with a shiny face forever?

I`ve tried that & didn`t notice a difference, my pimple problem is gone (thank God), but the oil is difficult to control.

I`ve heard there is a contraception pill which is prescribed for acne. Diane pill? You would need to go to your GP and discuss this further with them if you have any skin concerns and they may refer you to a dermatologist.

Mmm..not sure, as a teenager I was put on techricycline (not sure how its spelt) that was over 20 yrs ago.
It helped to clear my pimples and did seem to slow the oil secretion down some what. (I think it was designed to dry the skin out and fight the bacteria) I stopped using it as it was making me feel sick.
This modern day and age I`m sure theres a new product out, you`d have to check it out on the net or go ask the doctor what can be used.

Can you really get prescribed tablets that can dry up the oil? that would be great, what are they called?

Having matte foundation is good for this, as the dewy-look is meant to make you look moist-skinned. It`s about finding the right sort of makeup which you may not have found yet. If you refer to the covering up acne scars article you`ll see what I mean. Anyway, try a matte foundation.

Have you tried a powder foundation? Mac Studio Fix has a nice powder foundation which gives good coverage and has a matt finish which doesn`t leave the face shiney. I noticed from a different post you had trouble finding a shade to suit your skin colour and Mac also has a large range of colours to suit lots of skin colours.
