smelly feet from canvas shoes

Does anyone know how to stop your canvas flats (ballet shoes) from smelling like a dirty old bin?

I have about 5 pairs and have the same problem with all of them, its rather embarrasing when i goto a friends place and take them off… it literally clears the room and kills any plants that are in there?

With the bicarb, do you pop it into a mesh/organza bag first?

    Bicarbonate soda or salt deodorants.

Definitely the bicarbonate of soda trick. Also, save those little gel packets that come in boxes to prevent moisture. Those are great for leaving in shoes/trainers to draw in moisture and odour.

I`d throw tea tree oil spray into the mix. You can buy a can of it at Chemist Warehouse. Look for Thursday Plantation.
