Sad Day!

Well last night i recieved the prize i won from newwoman a goodies bag…
well when i got it… it was in an express post bag… no proper packaging…
and the olay makeup had smashed open all over the other prizes… (which are now ruined!!)

i emailed new woman this

Morning,

when i got home i had my parcel of a new woman goodie bag that i won from the forum, waiting for me in an express post plastic bag.

When i opened the bag, i found that the olay moisturiser had broken open, and had covered all but 2 prizes (i pod cover and holeproof party girl pack) , the magazines, books are now destroyed. with the paper inside the books breaking away and the pages of the magazines stuck together and all the print smudged. I am quite disappointed as that the book looked quite interesting.

Maybe in future if you are to send something that could possible break, could you think of bubble wrapping it, so that this may not occur again.

    I had something like this happen with me once. I won the Bettina Liano/Sunsilk prize of a free pair of Bettina Liano jeans but when i went to go get some they didn`t have my size, they don`t even make my size. Im a size 14! So i rang up Unilever who owns Sunsilk and Dove (with Dove`s new everyBODY is beautiful campaign) and told them my sad tale. Anyway, they were really nice and sent me a giftbasket full of Dove products and a voucher to get some other jeans. So, at least there are nice people out there!

    I am SO over New Woman, I`m sure in the forum months ago somebody else complained about receiving their prize broken and NW just replied in the forum with a quote from the terms & conditions that they aren`t responsible for damaged goods. That is just VERY poor customer service – especially when you buy their magazine and contribute to their website. They just don`t care. I have stopped buying it – I use to subscribe too. And I don`t visit the website anymore (I only have room for Beauty Heaven in my life!)
    How disappointing for you, I know how excited you were to win it, hope your hairdryer doesn`t arrive damaged. I like Princess`s idea about contacting the respective brands – that might work.

    no, i wouldn`t call them in tears. i`d let them know about this site and this thread and let them know that we all think this is extremely ordinary. yes it may be a prize, something you haven`t paid for as such, however in the name of customer service they should have the courtesy to make an effort to get it there in one piece. Perhaps you can also contact the companies of the items and let them know how New Woman represented their products.
    Since there are so many magazines to choose from i suspect we can find something else to enjoy.

    I`d ring up in tears – perhaps this is mean but it does get service quickly! I was in tears over something else because I was so frustrated by their “”yeah, we`ll send it soon”” I just cracked and cried over the phone whilst demanding to speak to their manager. It worked quickly, my issue was solved that day and BEFORE 4:49pm!
    (Normally I`d not lie but sounds like you`re being treated like a sponge)

    i cant control how the magazine sends it out unfortunately….
    and still waiting on the hair dryer i won off them a couple of weeks ago…
    sigh…

    If you pay for something and it gets damaged then the supplier should supply you with a new one. Bexie your mother should of complained and asked for a new perfume to be sent or get a refund! With competitions generally there is a clause saying that if items get damaged or lost in the post they are not responsible for it. Most magazine subscriptions are sent in the post and are covered in plastic wrapping so if they get wet they shouldn`t get damaged.

    i`d ring them or the courier because it the couriers jon to ensure the package gets there safely, atleast it didn`t cost you anything though, my mother once ordered some perfume from the net and it came smashed in the box she lost out on 120 bucks!
    i always wrap in bubble wrap just incase

    it was acutally a competition i entered…
    they promoted you would get beauty gifts…
    got 1!
    and the mags and books in there were weird!
