Rave about pantry beauty products

It’s always great making discoveries in your pantry that are good for your skin. There has been much talk in the media about how rice in good for the skin, and how Japanese women have used it for centuries, like in adds for SkII. Turns out rice bran oil has anti-aging properties, is full of antioxidants and also soothes sensitive skin.

I had a bottle of rice bran oil in my pantry, because it’s also really good for you in your food, some say it’s the healthiest oil. At first I used it as an eye makeup remover, because my normal remover was starting to irritate my eyes and I had heard that extra virgin olive oil was a really good alternative. Turns out rice bran oil is really good and removing stubborn waterproof eye wake up and soothes my skin as well. I’ve also staring using it as a makeup remover for all over my face. I massage the excess into my skin and leave it for a few hours before I wash it off and do my night time beauty regime before bed.
It is surprisingly light and non-greasy for an oil. I thought I should share my new discovery with all you beauties.

Has anyone else tried this? Also, it would be great to share any “pantry beauty products” you use and love

grapeseed oil is wonderful, its the best oil to use for massages as it elimates the worry about people with nut allergies when using almond oil. although you can use any oil because they all provide slip.

I saw that Michelle Phan video too! She said it had to be organic.

Apparently avocado oil is really good too

About rice.. when i wash my rice, i store the rice liquid in a bottle and use it as a toner. My rice, i made sure were no pesticides or anything used so it’s good to put on the face. I got this idea from michelle phan, who’s a popular beauty guru on youtube.

Another oil that is great is grapeseed oil. I like to use it on my whole body straight after a shower as it glides easily, then pack on moisturiser. :]

Thanks for the great tip RH.My hubby has recently switched to buying rice bran oil for our cooking so we have a huge bottle in the cupboard.I was actually thinking about using it in a body scrub mixed with sugar so it’s good to know you have also been using it so successfully on your face.

I would have to agree with you Roc. I have used Rice Bran oil quite a bit in my beauty regime and also in my handmade soap. The other great thing about this oil is that is is supposedly non-comedogenic. Hell! Maybe we should all throw out our moisterisers and just use this!
