MacBook or other laptop???
Hi guys, my laptop is on the way out and I need a new one so I’m trying to decide whether to get a MacBook or not. I have Adobe Photoshop which I’ll be using a lot as I self-teach so I need the best computer I can afford for that one main use. Any suggestions or feedback would be appreciated.

macbook ftw! I use to have one of the earlier ones, that was until I split herbal tea on it 🙁
Though I am biased my family has always been on macs, even before they looked all stylish. I just find that they’re more user-friendly and faster (I can’t stand my tiny k-rudd laptop!) -

I say not the Macbook. Everyone in the family owns a Macbook (Air) and just dont like how the Apple system works. When I was back on Windows, everything was great; there were so many things compatible with it. However, Apple products are merging so quickly, esp with the iphone and all. So i thnk that one day everyone is going to move to apple products. If thats the case, maybe the macbook will be right (haha sorry i sound so contradictive, just had second thoughts!)
Regardless of everything i mentioned, you really need to do your research and to see what you’re really looking for when you buy a laptop, hope i helped hun ! -

Hi, had a chance to talk with my Guru this morning and the following is what we both thought – It does not really matter these days which brand of hardware you choose, MacBook or Clone. With Adobe Photoshop (as you would probably know) you need as much RAM and HDD size as possible for your $2,000, also rendering with Photoshop uses considerable amount of CPU so minimum would be dual port CPU. We spoke about your need is for Photoshop and that room and size are the main requirements for your needs. Hope this helps, Lynn (Ausblonde) and Guru.

Thanks so much Chrissy, FB’s fine. I’m headed out soon but will be back this evening. There’s no rush as I’m going to wait now and get the money together so it’ll be a few weeks atleast before I buy.
I have an inspiron Dell Computer. I have been able to do absolutely everything I have needed to do on it. I have always used Internet Explorer and again no problems there. I don’t do much image wise but my friend is an absolute techy. He’s idea of relaxing is pulling apart a computer and putting it back together again? Each to their own!!! One thing he does know an awful lot about and that it computers and what you need for what is important to you. It appears that having photoshop and the ability to process photos is a key ingredient for you. Are there any other areas that are important to you as that can make a large difference to which computer best suits your needs. Also lastly but very importantly is budget. Do you have a range that you feel comfortable with? Hope you don’t mind me asking but if you don’t make the right choice it can be very annoying.
Oh yes I know those ppl who just love computers and its exactly how you described it! Pulling it apart and putting it back together.
And your right Ausblonde, the laptop im using now can be frustrating at times so make the right choice! -
