How Can I Prevent pimples after Waxing my face

I was having a hair over growth problem on my cheeks, it wasnt that visible but i was concerned about it so i used pre waxed strips for the first time on my face. My skin looked fresh and clear but the 2nd day i found pimples on my face where i had waxed. The pimples got worse by each day , they were really red and horrible! its been a week now and they have at least gone flat but they r still there.
Is this an irritation ??

If this is going to happen every time i wax then i dont think its worth it!! any tips on how i wont break out???

    I find NADS works really well. I would not use it on my face the day of waxing but apply it the day after. Moisturising the area you wax is very important as well. The whole hair thing is such a drag. Laser is probably the answer and it may not be too costly for your face. Worth trying. x

    Oh and also you need to exfoliate well before waxing or shaving, it helps prevent ingrowns. I also use a chemical exfoliant on the days between hair removal (not straight prior to of after, but all other days) it keeps the pores clear so that they don’t become blocked when the hair starts growing back through, this is what can also cause ingrowns and rashes 🙂

    Ouch!! I’ve seen threading take place and as simple as it seems, it looks soooo painful. I swtiched to laser hair removal. I’m getting my upper lip done. I’m sick of depilatories (hair removal cream) and waxing. It’s painful and it costs more in the long run. My first session is this saturday, So excited!!

    hmmm yeah i used a toner after…damn skin… i might try that nads.. or ill just have to live with my peach fuzz face hahaha

    I’ve used so many brands and all wax tends to cause pimples for me. I went to a waxing professional and she said that the ‘threading’ technique does not cause pimples. But I find threading to be more painful so I stick to waxing. Plus I don’t know how to thread at home, I only know how to wax.

    Heres a piccy for you.

    I do this around my mouth area and it stings and hurts. ouch ouch. If you want to learn, bubzbeauty did a tutorial for it, but you can just search youtube if you want 🙂
    Basically, you get a thread and tie the ends together to create a loop.
    twist it 3-4 times and stick 2-3 of your fingers in each side. Then put one side of your thread into where you want to thread off the hair and using your fingers widen the other side to move the twist bit in the middle down through the hair and it just plucks it off!
    My explanation is pretty bad so i think youtube is the best way to go x}

    The nads ingrown solution is a sort of gel based fluid that works quite well but it stings a fair bit when you use it, although I only shave but could imagine it would sting also after waxing. The next one I plan to try as I have read great things about it, is the Tend Skin, which is a professional hair removal solution, busting to try it. Here is a link:

    supermarket wax isnt the best quality, i’d say you have had a reaction, you can use a cold compress after waxing but if i were you i’d go to a salon nxt time n see if the problem occurs after that!
