So, I've been dyeing my hair for many, many years...seriously, I struggle to remember exactly what my natural colour looks like! So, I was a *little* sceptical about this product being able to strip out the colour deposits left in my almost waist-length curls. It's a very easy product to use, mixes up just like dye, but closes resembles perming solution in texture (fairly runny) and smell (ooh boy, very strong smell). Honestly, it was a little nostalgic for me, as my mother used to have her hair permed all the time and the smell is very memorable. Now, my hair was dyed most recently with black hair dye, which is notoriously difficult to lift. This product removed every bit of black and left me with a very uniform colour, though it is definitely a more reddish brown than my natural colour. In saying that, it's actually a very nice colour, which I haven't bothered to dye back over at this point! So, all in all, a win. In terms of hair condition afterwards, I would say that it's slightly drier than before using the product, but no more so than using a standard box dye on my hair. My hair definitely feels lighter post-treatment, I'm guessing because there was a decent buildup of dye in the strands, which has been removed. Definitely recommend, as long as you don't mind the smell of perming solution.
Tips
Very strong smell, so if you're sensitive to that, maybe give it a miss. Also, a *huge* amount of rinsing is required to remove the product. Very important note - read and follow the directions to the letter - there are specific time frames for leaving the product on, rinsing it off and using the buffer solution post treatment.
