Yoga insights anyone?

Hi! Been really stressed lately and I’ve been thinking if I should try yoga. I heard from good friends that it seems to be working for them. How about for you? Also, does it help keep maintain your figure? I think I read something about that in this website: http://www.fitness-health-talk.com/ .

A friend of mine loves it. Essentially it is yoga done in a hot room where the temperature is over 30 degrees. It isn’t recommended for people who can’t take the heat, like me. But you need to be pretty fit to do the yoga in such extreme heat.

Has anyone tried bikram yoga? If so what is it really? 🙂

Absolutely love yoga. I felt like such the proper ‘Yogi’ when I bought my own mat hehe! It’s amazing how much more focussed, refreshed and energised you feel after a session. If you can, try a few classes so you have a teacher to assist you with the moves. The if you don’t want to continue attending classes you can have a few moves up your sleeve to practice at home. A few sun salutations morning and night really work to calm the mind, it’s fantastic.
If you are anywhere near a Lululemon store, they run free yoga classes so check with your local store for times.

Yoga is awesome for stress, it is one of only two things that actually switch my brain off from all my worries (playing music is the other). It definitely helped my flexibility as well. After a class I always slept really well too. 🙂

Yoga has probably been the best thing to help my figure (apart from diet) as I have noticed a difference in the shape and firmness. That was just from doing it for short bursts a few times a week. I used to go to the gym doing weights and cardio but I honestly notice a bigger difference in my body doing yoga. I quickly became more flexible and I love the way the stretches make my muscles feel (as they sometimes get tight and sore). I can’t do anything too strenuous as my joints are quite weak so yoga is perfect. Apart from walking it’s my favourite form of exercise and it’s convenient to do.

    Hello 🙂

Yoga is amazing! But it takes you a while to get into it. It takes a few sessions to get the full benefits with breathing, relaxation and getting used to the poses. But once you do it and get completely into it you will be glad you did 🙂

It can assist in maintaining your figure, but you still need to eat healthy and do some other forms of cardio and weights.

I do (very) early morning walks, then weights at night and finish with yoga (for relaxation and flexibility). 🙂
