Winter Health & Fitness
Hi beauties,
With winter fast approaching I thought we could motivate each other to stay fit and healthy even though it’s going to be cold.
It is so easy to fall into naughty habits but if we stay healthy we won’t feel guilty when Spring hits!
I am going to walk at least an hour a day, if its raining outside I plan on doing circuit training to keep my fitness in check.
Also, I will only indulge in chocolate once a week. With the rest of the time eating very healthy.
What are your tips and ideas for staying healthy over Winter?

Its harder for me to get motivated in winter, but I play netball, so training and playing is good work…
I like to get out early in the morning and go for a run, rug up in some longer leggings, joggers, tee and lightweight jacket and go for a 7am run…Then get home to showers! Makes me feel all energised for the day, but actually getting my self out of bed that early into the cold is hard but rewarding…

I find it alot harder to stay healthy in Winter. I have no trouble keeping active/ fit etc cause my local gym is very close, and i do have big dogs i can walk all the time. Summer is alot easier to keep healthy – food wise – cause I can eat alot of salads and whatnot, but winter brings out my guilty pleasures 🙁 especially chocolate 🙁 doesn’t help easter was only a few weeks ago and all i’ve been eating lately is chocolate!

This is a fantastic idea!!! I’ve been sneaking in chocolate every other day since Easter..,,this is a fanstastic way to motivate for spring!! I do go to the gym 5 days a week and skip rope 2 nights a week. I’ve made some good progress on reaching my goals, but I have slowly been slipping back to the bad habits. Thanks for a great topic! It’s served as a good reminder to me.

For me winter is the easiest time to get and stay fit because I play competitive volleyball and winter is volleyball season! With training and matches every week it’s a pretty great way to stay active and fit, plus I LOVE sport!
My suggestion for staying fit is to find something that you love and that other people also love. By going in as a group or a team you feel much more dedicated to the activity (because it’ll fall through or not work as well without you!) and you also get that nice social aspect as well.
Part of what makes playing volleyball easy is that I love it (I also coach a team in one of the lower divisions) and I love the team I play on… I actually look forward to training and playing.

Hey Beautalicious 🙂
I’ve recently started a month long boot camp course to get me energised and motivated to increase my fitness. I think I’ve finally got to the age where my metabolism can no longer sustain virtually no exercise combined with late night snacking lol!
The first night we went (I roped a good friend to come with me, which I think is an added bit of motivation) I thought I was in way over my head and wondered what the hell I’d signed up for! It’s getting better & easier though.
As far as diet is concerned, I’ve started eating oats for brekkie (never been a big breakfast person and it was usually toast smeared with tons of butter & vegemite if it did happen in the past) and I’m finding that’s been super helpful in fighting away my mid-morning cravings. The regular exercise is also encouraging me to eat better, and I’m just generally giving more thought to what I’m putting into my body.
So I guess my tips are to find something to motivate yourself, and I’m finding that being active with a friend is the boost I needed to get started.
