What shade of Lipstick would suit me?

I have dark hair, dark eyes, slight olive complexion and i love red lipstick but am afraid to wear it as it’s so bold.
Can you suggest another colour that i could feel confident wearing everyday?

You can still try the red but with a gradient. Have a look at the Korean lip gradient, it looks more natural but still a pop on colour.
Also pink or a plum colour would suit you well!

Please be aware that the person that started this thread asked her question in 2007. There is no way of knowing if she is even a member of BH at the moment.

    Hi Olivia
You sound so sweet and such a Beauty Doll. You would be able to wear your favourite red Lipstick, day or night, and any colour you want to.

I have yellow skin tone and recently purchased an orange based lipstick. It has brighten up my skin colour. I think there really is a red colour lipstick that suits anyone. The issue is you just have to go try it out on your lips. Don`t be shy to try.

I do understand that red is quite a loud colour and perhaps unsuitable for daily wear though. I love wearing red when going out. However, if you want something not so high tone, maybe try some neutral colours instead.

Hey! I have same skin tone and eye colour as you, although my hair currently has blond highlights. I find a true red very flattering, especially with blue-ish undertones. Mac does some great ones. Red goes great with dark hair (one of the reasons Im going back to my natural colour next week) so give it a go!

Hey, have you all read the article on finding your best make-up colours that was on beautyheaven recently? make-up artists teach you how to match a colour tone to your skin tone so that it suits you. It`s great because it says that you CAN wear any colour you love as long as you find the right tone. Have a look http://www.beautyheaven.com.au/article/the-colour-codes

    Hi Glitter Girl,
Thanks so much for your nice comments. After two years in the making its great to see it finally out there 🙂 Harlotte should be with Adore Beauty in Vic within the next couple of weeks (we are just finalising the details). Also keep your eye on the stockist page. The mascara is gorgeous – I am sure you will love it – either for soft eyes or keep layering for dramatic eyes. xxx
