What are your thoughts on Photos not being ‘touched up’?
Sarah Murdock and Mia Freeman are campaigning for magazines to use ‘real’ size models and for photos not to be photo shopped. This months Woman Weekly has Sarah on the cover untouched only a little makeup.

Gee, maybe they should just hang the bikini on a hanger, lol. Would save the costs of the model 🙂 Interesting article stay C.

I love the idea of photos not being touched up, especially the photo adds for makeup and skin care, we all have a right to know what we are actually getting, and no one can tell me that we will get our makeup as perfect as it is in the photos!

hear hear happy chic, I couldn`t agree more!
People are surrounded by these unrealistic images mostly because they choose to be. And the beauty industry is supported by consumers – US.
Personally I don`t have a TV or a computer at home, and I`ve never bought a magazine in my life, so most of what I see is real people.
I do think image is important, and I certainly take pride in my appearance, but I would never try to measure up to the images in magazines etc, because I`m not a model, it`s not my job to look like that. I understand the message and prestige that companies try to create and associate with their products and services, but I just don`t think it has to apply to me…
Sorry I`m not making a lot of sense this time of year lol -

I think some peoples comments are ironinc considering their aviators.
Personally it doesn`t really bother me, generally people know they are photoshopped all you have to do is look closly to see the pixilated colourings. I think people need to be taught in particular young women and teens that we are gorgeous for who we are and this ultimently has to come from the persons friends and family and people have to stop blamming the media.
After all we buy these magazines with these images, even look at BH and the models it displays! I personally am not a raving beauty nor am I what you what you would call skinny, but I have always felt good about myself because I have great friends and family who support and encourage me. -

I personally think it`s GREAT! Photo touch ups have always been an issue in the past; real girls relate and look up to the perfect images of fashion models and celebrities and create an unrealistic image of themselves. Teenage magazines such as Girlfriend have recently decided not to touchup their photos. A thumbs up to them!
