For a wedding we have coming up (They have suggested cash but we`re quite low on it at the minute), we`re going to get them a set of three Jamie Oliver cookbooks, we figure they`re practical and they can have romantic dinners cooking recipes for eachother 🙂

what my husband and I did for our wedding is we had a honeymoon registry where people could give towards ourhoney moon. Escape Travel set it up for us and we were able to get people to contact them and they looked after everything. It was wonderful. The only problem here is that if you got given more money than your holiday then it comes back in travel vouchers that you can only use through them. We were fortunate enough that a large portion of our family and friends gave cash and presents and towards the honeymoon registry so it was evenly split up. By the end of our wedding I think we had 11K

I agree that if there is no gift registry, then give a voucher or even money. Might sound boring and unimaginative, but most newlyweds will appreciate it, especially since they will have so much to pay for related to their wedding and possibly a house if they are just moving in together.

I think money is better than a voucher, coz weddings are expensive! I went to a wedding recently, and whenever anyone asked the bride and groom what they wanted, they said cash, and that actually helped them pay for most of the wedding. The worst thing is to start out in a marriage in debt!

I got married in March this year. We didnt have a gift registry and we already had an established household. Our guests gave us gift vouchers and cash.
Simple things also work well. An engraved photo frame was my favourite gift. Perfect for a wedding pic.
I have also been to a wedding that a guest took a photo of bride and groom, snuck off and had it printed, framed and wrapped. Imagine the surprise when they opened that up. It was really nice.
