Vitamin e pills

Hi there,

Has anyone tried or currently taking vitamin e pills?

I’m currently researching on the net to see what the feedback on them is & interested to hear from anyone on BH what their thoughts are…….before I possibly purchase some.

Sorry didn’t mean to confuse – vit c doesn’t make it to our skin before being digested unfortunately – and you can get some supplements with vitamin a in them, but you do haveto be careful with how much you take.

You will benefit much more from using topical creams with them in them (no need for body as well – just face). The creams Mel and I both use are in addition to our regular moisturisers, you only apply a tiny amount underneath your moisturiser.

Both Elmo and I are currently using topical vitamin A and C applications darl, as recommended by our BT’s 🙂

    Thanks Elmo.

So when you say vitamin C & A, is that in pill form or do you mean topical application onto skin?
I already apply so many lotions & potions to my face / body – there’s not really any more leeway to add yet another one until I’ve used up present supplies LOL 😉

But yes – I’ll start reading up on the above 2 vitamins……..although vit c in the past has given me major stomach upsets, so might have to be cautious in giving it another try.
I actually didn’t realise (or thought about it) that you can get vit A pills – woohoo – learn something new everyday – will be hunting those out pronto!

MsCosmetics – sounds like you look after yourself which is pretty great! Any ‘good’ anti-ageing skin routine includes constant sunscreen usage – you won’t find a better anti-ageing device than sun protection! So it’s great that you’re vigilant about that.

There are actually products that can help neutralise the effects of ageing – you won’t find anythign other than botox etc to deal with current wrinkles – but you can use preventative products to help your skin look better for longer – ie vit c strengthens your skin against sun damage – which is obviously a major cause of wrinkles – it also promotes collagen production in your skin to help keep it plump. Vit a is also excellent as it refines the texture of your skin to keep it smooth and soft – as rough and uneven texture is also a syptom of ageing. If you’re on a strict budget you may not be able to include these in routine, but it could be worth keeping them in mind.

Otherwise – I would compare the Imedeen ingredients to other cheaper versions to see if you can get the same results for a cheaper price. 🙂

Yep darl, the joys of aging I’m afraid, lol.

Yeah tell me about it! I get dark circles under the eyes if I’m tired, which become a hassle to cover with the whole fine lines issue 🙁
No more slapping on concealer / foundation & looking fine….it’s all about correct application & product – what a hassle eh!

LOL I thought you were saying you only used moisturiser and sunsceen, sorry darl, all sounds good to me 🙂 I hear you on the fine lines, mine are just starting to rear their ugly head, it seems like I can only see them when I am wearing mineral powder foundation though, I am beginning to understand as you get older when it comes to makeup less is more 🙂

    Hi Prettypearls,

I shipped over a large amount when I relocated to Oz earlier in the year as I thought it might be hard / expensive to buy in Australia. I only ran out probably 6 weeks ago 🙁
I’ve usually taken the classic pills, sometimes the time perfection to see if they gave better results & would like to try the radiant complexion ones. Worst case senario I’ll have to purchase online from UK retailer & have them posted to me by the seller or friend in London…but haven’t worked out if they would be any cheaper than just outright purchasing in Australia & not having the hassle of postage thrown into the mix.

I am on such a tight savings budget that I simply can’t afford to be paying out $70 per month for them!

Hi Mel – yeah – I cleanse twice daily (morn & night) & have done so since a teen. I have numerous cleansers including clarins pure melt gel etc to really remove makeup at night before proper cleanse & have used the oil cleansing routine as well. I also exfoliate regularly.

I’ve used serums for a decade, numerous ones like Estee Lauder Advanced night repair, Elizabeth Arden prevage / ceramide capsules etc.
My skin is in good condition, but I have a fair freckled complexion, and the fine lines around eyes are now showing 🙁
I swear it was less noticable / more even complexion when taking the pills.
I guess I will return to them if need be BUT am seeking a cheaper alternative in the mean time & am happy to experiment for a while provided it doesn’t cost as much as just buying imedeen outright 😉

That is interesting thanks Elmo, they are about half the price of the Alpha-H ones I am using so I will have to compare the ingredients and see which one I would prefer, obviously the cheaper one, lol, but I do like that the Alpha-H has silica in it as well.
Ms do you mean that you only use a moisturiser, no cleanser or anything else?? I would defiantely recommend a skincare routine of at least a good cleanser, I believe cleansing is the foundation of any good skincare regime as it removes all the gunk from your skin it also unclogs pores and without cleansing it can become a breeding ground for impurities. I also have recently discovered the importance of using both a vitamin a and vitamin c serum in my skincare regime, although everyone is different but I think a good serum that is suitable for your skin could do wonders. It is totally up to the individual though but just thought I would share my view, hope you don’t mind.
