Using products from different brands

I have always used my favourite products from different brands as I like what they do individually. I currently use pieces from Clinique, Lancome, Avon Anew, Ultraceuticals, ASAP & Matis.

I am revamping my beauty drawer and would like to try some new products. I went to the Chanel counter and was recommended a lot of products but I would also like to try Emergin C Complexion Perfection Serum. The lady at the Chanel counter said to use all products from the same brand so they work at their optimum level. Is this really true or was she just trying to get me to spend a lot with her?

I envisaged my new beauty regime to be:

Cleanse & Tone morning & night: Clinique (in shower)/Matis (is cleansing without showering)

Moisturise Morning: Chanel Energising Multi Protection Fluid SPF 15

Moisturise Night: Chanel Blanc Essential Whitening product

Exfoliate: Avon Clinical Micro Exfoliant

Serum morning & night: Emergin C Complexion Perfection

Eyes morning & night: Chanel Eye Tonic & Chanel Beaute Initiale Energising Multi Protection Eye Cream

Extra: 2 nights Ultra Ceuticals 20% C Cream and 2 nights Alpha Peel Off mask

Is that too much or too complicated for skin in general? If it is, could you recommend a simpler, skin friendly regime that will target my concerns below with your recommended products?

My problems or concerns are: Start of fine lines around my eyes, dark circles (which won’t go away with 8-9 hours of sleep per night and 2L water a day), still get occasional breakouts around my chin or forehead, I spend a lot of time in the sun so would like to start working on pigmentation/dark spots before they appear, would like a more luminous, even, glowing complexion (doesn’t everyone) J

It gets quite humid during summer so I would have to look at a light moisturizer for summer and a heavier one for winter.

HELP!!!!

Mixing and matching is fine for both skincare and haircare.
As long as each individual product works for you.

Wow thats a lot of products! I prefer to keep it simple: cleanse, exfoliate, tone, moisturizer.

You need to find what`s right for you. any cleanse tone moisturise routine should be by the same brand, but only if they all target the one problem you want to take care of. The brand only really matters when you overlap them eg, using 2 different anti aging eye creams. Use as many things as you want to to target your different concerns.

    I mix and match!
I probably get a range of product in the same brand every now and then but mostly I try different things and I`m not going to go out and by the entire range of something just to try. I`d generally build it up over time if that makes sense. So if I need a moisturiser and buy a different brand then when I next need a cleanser if I`m happy with the change in brand of moisturiser I might go for the same brand of cleanser.
I find different seasons I need different products which may then mean changing brands slowly again.
Also sometimes I might buy something because I think its a good deal, like it comes with a freebie or something.
