Using different products from different brands

Post a reply
I have always used my favourite products from different brands as I like what they do individually. I currently use pieces from Clinique, Lancome, Avon Anew, Ultraceuticals, ASAP & Matis.
I am revamping my beauty drawer and would like to try some new products. I went to the Chanel counter and was recommended a lot of products but I would also like to try Emergin C Complexion Perfection Serum. The lady at the Chanel counter said to use all products from the same brand so they work at their optimum level. Is this really true or was she just trying to get me to spend a lot with her?
I envisaged my new beauty regime to be:
Cleanse & Tone morning & night: Clinique (in shower)/Matis (is cleansing without showering)
Moisturise Morning: Chanel Energising Multi Protection Fluid SPF 15
Moisturise Night: Chanel Blanc Essential Whitening product
Exfoliate: Avon Clinical Micro Exfoliant
Serum morning & night: Emergin C Complexion Perfection
Eyes morning & night: Chanel Eye Tonic & Chanel Beaute Initiale Energising Multi Protection Eye Cream
Extra: 2 nights Ultra Ceuticals 20% C Cream and 2 nights Alpha Peel Off mask
Is that too much or too complicated for skin in general? If it is, could you recommend a simpler, skin friendly regime that will target my concerns below with your recommended products?
My problems or concerns are: Start of fine lines around my eyes, dark circles (which won’t go away with 8-9 hours of sleep per night and 2L water a day), still get occasional breakouts around my chin or forehead, I spend a lot of time in the sun so would like to start working on pigmentation/dark spots before they appear, would like a more luminous, even, glowing complexion (doesn’t everyone) J
It gets quite humid during summer so I would have to look at a light moisturizer for summer and a heavier one for winter.
HELP!!!!

I used to but have now found a skincare range that I am happy with and that suits my skin – Monsia Skincare. Started using it in December 2014 and my skin really likes it. Never heard of shea butter or jojoba esters before reading them on the ingredients list, so it has been a learning curve for me. My hubby says that my skin smells lovely and feels really smooth. I have also made my own body butter using shea butter, jojoba oil, castor bean oil and lanolin. I apply it to slightly damp skin, i.e. after a shower.

It`s not necessary to use products all from the same brand, however, a range is formulated with a particular focus, so using the full range gives you the full benefits of that `miracle` ingredient plus the benefits of other ingredients. so for example, you might want moisture products that have a big hit of vitamin c, the whole range will give you much more benefit than just one of the products.
I often use a cleanser and scrub from a certain range but i always try to use treatment products from the same range.
i notice a difference if i use a range as opposed to different ones but i still mix them up sometimes.
