Toothaches

For the past month I have been having extremley bad tooth aches and must have root canal treatment done, but have to wait another 3 weeks to see a specialist. I had to go to hospital this morning as it was so bad, do any of you have any cures/know of any remiedies to help relieve the pain a bit?

I worked as a dental asst. for 9 yrs back home and my question to you is….. did your dentist find an abscess? If so he should have done an open and drain on that tooth to relieve the pain and then prescribe Amoxicillin to help with the infection. If you don’t have an abscess then try chewing on a clove like the other girls stated this will numb the area temporarily but it works.

I have also used cloves jatz 🙂 the oil in the clove acts as a pain/numbing relief!

When I had my tooth pulled out, the dentist prescribed me codeine and these strong pain killers helped to relieve the pain I was in.

I’ve been down this track many a times. Usually I just stick a clove on the gum above the tooth and that helps with the pain. Actually I was awaiting to have root canal and a crown done but couldn’t get in for 2 weeks so used the clove remedy. When I had to go to the dentist I told him how it wasnt hurting anymore and didn’t need the root canal anymore….no such luck. lol
