Tips for natural looking bronzer on light skin

I have a light skin tone with yellow undertones – its not quite porcelain and not quite medium but still of a euro descent. I cannot get bronzer to look natural and blended with my skin tone. The dark versions are just too dark and the light versions always have a golden tint to them which just makes me look more yellow. Has anyone come across a suitable coloured bronzer or blusher I can use as a bronzer, or anyone know of any techniques to make bronzer blend well. Much appreciated beauties!

Tanias, have you thought about blending both a blush and a bronzer together? there are some kits (prestige, BYS, estee lauder, revlon and I think rimmel all make some) that have different shades of blush and bronzer in a compact that you can blend for a natural look.

I’m quite pale too and I find it best to start applying the tiniest amount of bronzer using a foundation brush in the hollows of my cheek – it contours and adds shadow. Then I’ll go over it with a blush brush to blend in properly, without adding new product.

    Great tip Pepsi… thats awesome.

Yeah mine is GOlden too Elmo.

But dont be taken by that Tanias1, by skin throws yellow too. I would just say go to a counter and they can pick out what looks good on you

i have very fair skin and found it hard to find a good bronzer that didn’t make me look yellow or pink, i went to the bobby brown counter at David Jones and the girl there helped me with the right colour and tips on how to make it look natural, like putting translucent powder on the brush and a small amount of bronzer to dilute the colour and make it easier to build up the colour rather than put on too much and have to try and fix it. it is well worth a trip to a professional to find out what is right for you!

Same thing happened to me. When I went to the Mac counter she knew instantly too. I love my mac bronzer, its the only one I can use.

A make up artist as a cosmetic counter will be able to do all the hard work for you! I went to a MAC one and she knew instantly which shade of bronzer I”d need. And they’ll def be able to show you how to use it properly 🙂

Then a Clinique counter would be ideal, they will show you application tips and probably even put it on for you as well. Good luck 🙂

Thanks lovelies, it’s just all so much effort trying them all on! I think I may need a really light shade that’s inbetween a blush and bronzer. I will check out Ultraceuticals and Clinique as they have a Clinique counter near where I live. Also I think I may be applying it wrong and applying too much! I need someone to show me.

I would head to MAC or Clinique or somewhere like that, as they have several shades of bronzers, and the makeup artists should be able to help you find your perfect match 🙂
