The perfect shampoo and conditioner….
Help!! I need to find a shampoo and conditioner that suits my hair. I’ve tried nearly everything, only to be disappointed. If I don’t use a good conditioner, or use enough of it, my hair becomes so dry that I cannot do anything with it. If I used lots of conditioner, or a moisture rich one, my hair becomes greasy and lank.
Any suggestions?

Charlie – Al’Chemy have a nice shampoo for coloured hair which I got for my mother =)
Lucy – Try Al’Chemy or Trilogy if you’re not too fussed on the price.
I have odd hair aswell sometimes, Al’Chemy have this lovely leave in conditioner. My hair has been dry and damaged lately (i’ve been needing to condition my hair twice each wash) so I just went out and bought the Al’chemy Ginkgo & Jojoba Intensive Moisture Vitamin Masque. The reviews convinced me, it sounds like it works wonders. First Al’chemy product so I hope it lives up to the hype. If it does, you can bet i’ll be switching to them.

The Elvive range is excellent. My hairdresser recommended it as a great, affordable shampoo and conditioner range, and my hair is pretty healthy.
If I didn’t have a colour, I’d probably stick to the A-kin/Al’chemy organic range. Beautiful scents and nice products.

So they call palm oil ‘Glyceryl Oleate’ in organic care. No wonder I didn’t know about it. Thats very misleading to unsuspecting customers. They get away with murder…
Actually it’s not just Glyceryl Oleate that’s derived from Palm Oil. If you read the ingredients Coco-Glucoside is also derived from “Palm Kernel Oil” which from my understanding is just another part of the same plant.
I’ll put up some interesting articles for you to read in the beware ingredients thread.
Great thanks! I’ll echeck them out.

Organic Care is not for me either, I personally will avoid products that I know have palm oil in them now that I am aware about the animal cruelty issues involved 🙁 I have used products with palm oil in them but now that I am aware of the issue I try to avoid it at all costs. Despite the palm oil thing I gave the Organic Care a go after hearing a few people rave about how good it is for the price, but just like most other cheap shampoo and conditioner it just made my scalp itch 🙁 I love the ever pure range Roxy mentioned and a few other good ones I have used and loved that are not full of nasties and are gentle on my scalp are MooGoo, Evo, DeLorenzo (they have a fantastic lineup too) Alchemy (although I am not that fussed on the scent) and Davroe (like DeLorenzo this is all natural salon haircare)
I didn’t know about the palm oil in this product. I must have not read the ingredients :/
I’m a vegetarian and try not to cause any harm to animals and I do know that using palm oil leads to the death of many orangutans.
I was looking at some lovely soaps to buy for my mum today and heaps of them had palm oil so I didnt buy any in the end.Well I do know alchemy is wonderful, my mum loves it, it’s very gentle. I also love burts bees. I hope that doesn’t have palm oil as I bought some today.

Organic care shampoo and conditioner. It’s affordable, less nasty chemicals, and makes your hair super soft! You can get the dry/damaged version. You can get organic care from priceline and woolworths from $3.40ish
I use Organic Care too. I found it to be one of the best shampoos for my hair and it’s great value.

lucy_gurrll it all depends on what kind of hair you have and is all about trial and error unfortunately.
I have fine hair that gets weighed down easily. The last shampoo I used had silicones in it and it wrecked my hair so definitely avoid silicones in shapoos.
Kiehl’s Ultimate Thickening Shampoo ( For Thinning Hair ) is really good but it depends on if your hair is fine or not. http://www.fragrancesandcosmetics.com.au/haircare/Kiehl_s_Ultimate_Thickening_Shampoo___For_Thinning_Hair___116420.html
Best of luck with your haircare endeavours! 🙂
