Sugar and Honey Scrub

Ok, so this is the best thing i have ever heard of in terms of at home self made scrubs. I read about it in a magazine ages ago then heard about it again from some people and remembered. What you do is mix half a cup of honey with half a cup of sugar and mix, then apply all over your body. Massage around, making sure all the dead skin goes. you can do it on your face too. then rinse off in the shower. Omg my skin is always so soft after i do it. I try and do it once a week. So good people, try it! Anyone else know of any sugar/honey remedies?

hi, i`ve just read this thread, and i thought it was really great! Me and my cousin get together all the time and do home made face masks and one time we made an exfoliating one with honey and oatmeal! it worked really well, it was a bit sticky lol, but it also smelt really good and we ended up making more afterwards and eating it on ice-cream!! lol

I am sure it has healing properties there is an entire book on remedies for honey and vinegar so it probably does have some effect. I guess a large tub of honey would be the go for using this as the small jars could work out a bit expensive. I will keep this in mind and give it a go when I need a bit of stimulation, lol. Thanks guys.

Hi SQ, I used honey (melted it first), olive oil & sugar, but after mixing it up I found the smell of the olive oil a little overpowering, so added some essential oil (peppermint) to the mix too, it smelt wonderful & left my limbs feeling invigorated.
Melmelko, honey is a natural antibacteriant (is that a word), so I guess it kills nasties, and i remember seeing on some talk show years ago (probably about 10 or so) that it also has moisturising effects, some woman spoke of using it as a face mask.

I might do that but I noticed the mention of honey being good for getting rid of pimples and I know that it does have many healing properties too, so I just thought I would ask, thanks darl.

Hey melmeko. Umm, i am not entierly sure about the benefits! Other than soft skin, it is just a really good way of naturally removing all the crap and dead skin off your face and body. I am not sure of any other things other than soft skin, and its pretty much all natural. Maybe try and see how it works for you?
