Sporadic skin type!

I was wondering if anyone can help me with my skin. It breaks out at all times of the month, but my main concern is hormones and diet. I take the pill and it does help a little. I was wondering what foods and drinks I should avoid to prevent my skin breaking out further.
cheers

Yes having a healthy diet is really important. But you also need to remember if your hormones are acting up different foods won`t really help, although they will in the long run not necessarily in the short time. but being all round healthy and fit and making sire you clean your skin day and night will help prevent breakouts and keep skin healthy. x

Having an all-round healthy diet is the best thing you can do for your skin. I am vegetarian so eat alot of fruits and vegetables daily, very limited amounts of foods high in fats and sugars and barely any soft drink. I eat alot of dairy (milk, yoghurt and cheese daily) and this has never affected my skin, which is good for me!
When i was a teenager my doctor put me on antibiotics for acne but they didn`t work, even though I took them for 6 months or more. the contraceptive pill did help my skin, I guess it works for some and not for others. It took about 4 months though! I recently went off the pill and was a little afraid that I might start breaking out again, but so far so good!

I`ve never heard of cutting out dairy being helpful (until now…), but I suppose if it works, it works. I still think that ChristineW should consider visiting a professional to ask for advice about what she can eat to make up for the loss of dairy.

Elmo, it`s true, my boobs went one to two sizes up after taking the pill! 🙂 Can`t remember which brand it was. It caused havoc on my skin though so I switched to Yasmin which made my skin cleared up. But when I stopped taking them the skin went funny again for a while. Thankfully the boobs size stayed. Hehehe…

WitchyMage, cutting dairy foods definitely helped my skin A LOT. Unfortunately I love cheese and yoghurts, so I ate it every now and then. Still have to pay the price though afterwards…

Toufu (beancurd) and tempe (buy at Asian or health shops) are great (if not better) alternatives, they have more proteins, too.
