Skin-Inject

I have just discovered this needling device, has anyone tried them or heard about them, apparently they give great results and are nowhere near as painful as the ones you get done professionally?

I’ve just bought the skin-inject roller for home use. Apparently it doesn’t really hurt but you’re not meant to press it too much (I guess until you get used to using it). I was told its best used with ACTIVE ingredients like RETRIEVE Retinol A Cream. I usually only use natural products like A’Kin Roeship Oil and the Serum and also their moisturisers. Apparently these will be no good used with the roller. I don’t really fancy my skin drying and peeling from the Retrieve cream as I have a tendancy to pick at things ;-(. Anyway I will give it a go and keep you posted. I’ve been doing a fair bit of reading about this therapy and apparently its good for all skin types and has good results.

Wow what an interesting thread! I’ve just found and read it and it’s grabbed my attention! I have seen something similar done in a salon on tele on the show 10 Years Younger in 10 Days. So good to hear these products and processes are making their way to public availability and not just in expensive salons. Don’t you just love living in (nearly) 2010!!

Thanks to all who’ve posted on this thread – I’m going to check out this method sometime as it sounds pretty safe.

Hi, I have been using a derma roller (not the skin inject one tho) and it has been really good. Once you get over that initial fear that it’s really going to hurt, you are fine. I am using a fine one so it does not work as well as the ones in a clinic. My derm does one under a local or there’s a more deep needling that requires sedation (a big no for me I am a chicken) so the at home kit has been ok. It feels likes scratching to me, and after wards I am a bit red but I think with each use my skin is looking clearer. It’s not an overnight thing as I think the needling tricks the skin into producing more collagen to fill the tiny holes, so you need to go through a full cell renewal cycle before you see benefits (according to my dr). She also said that real results may not be seen for months! I haven’t chnaged by skin care routine- still using dermalogica.

Hi scent I don’t think you would need to change your skincare if you are happy with it just incorporate it. Jen got hers from TFC the same as the link I posted above, they have qualified BT’s on hand who in fact organised her skincare regime as well, she has been a customer for a while I think, they also advised her on how to use it etc.

Scent – peels help with sun damage as well – just so you know 🙂 I would chat to BTs about all your options – ie peels, microdermabrasion, light treatment, and the skin inject.
