should I?

I am thinking about going for a basic makeup class because I don’t really know how to apply makeup.
Thing is, I do not feel like spending the money and I am wondering if anyone went to one and did it help?

Thanks

My friend got her makeup done for her formal at the bodyshop for $60, fully redeemable on products. im sure they`ll teach you their tricks as they go along doing your makeup. book it the afternoon of a night so that you can fully utilise your makeover 😉

I went to the Shiseido counter at Myer and got my make up done. The girl was really helpful and wrote down all the shades that suit you, etc. She is very thorough explaining everything. For this service you just buy 2 products which are around $60 each but it is well worth it…

I also believe the Body Shop do something similar?

Also you canget great books that have step by step instructions, Bobbi Brown brought one out not so long ago. That way you can pratise at home as much as you like and you will always have the piccies to help.

I was walking through Melbourne`s Myer store and the Benefit counter had a sign up offering to teach you how to apply eyebrow pencil with their new eyebrow pencil. Also again, looking at counters that offer sessions that are redeemable on products, i know napoleon had a special night like this recently.

You could even just go to Myer and see the make up ladies there at a counter. I use to work in one and always got people wanting to know how to apply make up and I loved helping people. They can explain how to apply it as they are doing your make up and if you ask questions you can get heaps of tips. Doesn`t cost a thing.

It is something that I am interested in, given your comment above, I assume you are in Adelaide?!
    try http://gabrielleboulton.com.au/1/makeupbootcamp.pdf
I think she utilizes what you have in your current collection too so you are not forced to purchase from a particular brand.

Do I need a disclaimer?! I don`t know the MUA and I have had no interactions with her at all, purely came along this when researching with my friend for her wedding make-up. (she ended up booking someone else)

If you go to http://www.redballoondays.com.au/experience/ASK962 they have a “”Girls Day Out”” which is a makeup tuition for four for $595 – if you got four friends together it would only be about $150 – could be fun!

I actually went to a short course many years ago just out of personal interest. It cost about $100 from memory but I just enjoyed the class as there were about a dozen women in the class and it just felt like a real girly day out experience. I wanted to gain more tips on eyeshadow application and found the teacher (makeup artist) very helpful. Alternatively you could go up to a makeup counter like Mac and get some tips for free. They are generally very helpful especially when they aren`t very busy and willing to lend a helping hand plus it keeps them busy! Good luck cosmoslyn.

If you`re interested in MAC maybe just go up to the counter & enquire, I would think most MACs would have some sort of makeup session. Unfortunately the website isn`t much use, it just says to ring or go to your local one. I remember seeing at the MAC in Melb DJ they occassionally have group sessions where you learn to do certain looks as well.
