I think that red looks amazing on you Hayley. I`m afraid of reds too and think it looks weird against my skin tone, but your photo has encouraged me to experiment a little 🙂

Ok so ladies I need an honest opinion.

I don`t normally wear red lipstick but I got a sample of a red Avon lippy that I decided to try!

Please tell me what you think

This is a lovely red, looks great on you 🙂 you`d definitely be able to rock classic reds, maybe like MAC Russian Red or Ruby Woo.

Yup, exactly these, they are both blue based and I would highly recommend you get the ladies at your local MAC store/counter to pop one on you so you can try it out. A blue based red typically is what you would consider a fire engine red type colour. You then have orange/yellow based or a mixture of blue and orange. A good SA or MUA will be able to show you the differences, once you have all three swatched next to each other you should be able to easily see the different undertones.

Thanks for that Zaralis! I had no idea what a blue-red looks like either. Bloggers mention it a lot but I could never be bothered to look it up.

Hayley, you look really lovely although it looks pink on my screen too. All that pink is very matchy match – your top and your glasses 🙂

I think it looks nice Hayley! You`re right, it does look more of a pink in the pic. I wouldn`t really know what a blue-based red looks like either tbh, but I suppose you could always ask for assistance on that one and hope that someone knows their stuff. I think I had a Maybelline one once that was blue-based (might`ve been the Color Sensational one in Are You Red-dy?), but I don`t have it anymore so I couldn`t give you an idea, sorry.
