Quality concealer to cover acne scarring
Hi there, I’d like to find a really nice thick concealer to conceal acne scars and dark skin under the eyes? I need something that really works, not just the normal concealer. ‘Dermablend’ seems great but it’s quite expensive, is there anything else out there? I’d also like something that’s not greasy and going to cause more pimples. Thanks everyone for your input!!!

My original concealer for scarring has been acnil concealer stick. It’s really thick and seriously covers things up plus it contains sacilic acid I think and that lasted forever. But now they sell it in a tube and I find those little tubes can be wasteful, plus I doubt the product is the same.

Dermablend is supposed to be really good for scaring, and other heavier forms of scaring. I haven’t tried it myself though, but it is quite expensive like you said.
You can try it out at Priceline, they have plenty of testers there in all the available shades therefore you can try before you invest that amount of money. I would reccommend that you do spend alittle more that what you normally would for good coverage, but just make sure it’s exactly what you are after. Nothing is worse than spending a whole heap of money on something and it turns out to not be what you want/expect.
I hope this helps, and good luck.
If murad doesn’t work I’ll give dermablend a test out before buying.

Well guess what, I bought Laura Mercier Secret camoflage concealer but I received it in the mail damaged so I can’t really test that one out properly. The seller on ebay was great though, she didn’t ask any questions and said she’s send me another one out! (native_sun_distributions). I’m very happy about that as the last seller where I had an issue with the product was very unreasonable and wouldn’t help.
I also got Benefit Confessions of a concealaholic so theres the erase paste in there and the industrial strength one. That product is the worst I’ve ever tried. It goes on really sticky and stays sticky. Plus the coverage is not industrial strength at all, it’s not highly pigmented. Then I tried the lemon-aid in the pack and that was disgusting, it went on yellow and looks yellow on!!! lol Then the pink eye bright one was really good at brightening the eye area but stayed sticky :/ The erase paste was waaaay too dark for me and was very sticky also. If you want more acne and to be very shiny, try this product 😉
Anyway I have a little bit of the laura mercier one in the container that I might be able to scoop out and use and let you guys know. Next one on my list is definately murad. I’v heard alot of raving about it.
Well it was fun trying these things, at least I know what not to buy. By the way the benefit face brightening primer was really nice and not sticky, just gave a nice brightening effect on my face but very slight.

Good one can’t wait to hear your thoughts on them, be sure to let us know 🙂
I put a bid on The benefit one on ebay and lost it but bidding again today so hope I win that! I saw some reviews for that on youtube and also liked the look of the benefit lemon aid for dark circles under the eyes so trying to buy that as well. I also bought this one called Stila cover stick as it was a bargain online but not sure about that one?! I might try these two then if they aren’t great then onto some other products.

Good luck with the concealers. I use Murad skin products and they are excellent. I expect that Murad’s concealer should do the trick. Let us know which is the best of the 3. x

I’d say try MAC Studio Finish or Laura Merceier Secret Camouflage, they both have really good coverage and look natural if applied properly 🙂
And I just bought the Laura Mercier one so I’ll give that a go! I’ll have too many concealers soon but lucky I have 3 sisters to share them with.

Thank you so much!! I found the Boi ing one on ebay and it’s quite cheap, I am thinking of trying that (Industrial strength sounds good!).
Then the murad one and the physicians formula sound good. I found the murad one on ebay from usa. The physicians one is from usa as well but I can’t find it on ebay. So I think I will try Boi ing and Murad then let you know 🙂
