psoriasis

I have psoriasis on my scalp and the treatment shampoo I use has destroyed my hair!!!!

I have tried everything, but other product seem to bother it. What can I do to soften my hair and make it shiny and healthy rather than like wire?

  • I had a scrip from our Family Doctor for psoriasis and after a year with only minimal results, I tried psoriasis serum of dermalmd. and only after three days there was an 80 percent improvement. I guess the proof is in trying it for yourself, you got nothing to loose and everything to gain.

Hope`s Relief has a 2-step Scalp & Hair Care Range that uses natural herbal actives to nourish and heal psoriasis-prone scalps, as well as keep hair smooth and healthy. Sometimes psoriasis on the scalp is caused by a type of fungus called Malassezia. It feeds on the natural oils secreted by the scalp and then triggers the body`s immune system to try to produce more oil and for the scalp cells to keep trying to grow at a faster rate to form a protective barrier. The result is the excessive flaking as cell turnover is over-compensated. Hope`s Relief`s Shampoo & Conditioner formulas uses the natural healing abilities of Calendula, Aloe Vera, Gotu Kola, Licorice and Manuka Honey to control the itching and flaking, reduce any redness and gently cleanse the scalp and nourish the hair, as well as remove any bacterial or fungal infections. See the website for more info & there`s also a money-back guarantee if you are dissatisfied with the results of your purchase. http://www.hopesrelief.com.au

    Hi Bubblee
I have a fairly dry scalp although not psoriasis related. I recently started using an oil infused with coconut and herbs. I purchased this from my local indian grocer, the smell is divine and like Bobsmum expressed covering your hair at night with an old towel and shampoo with a gentle shampoo will leave your hair glossy and scalp feeling happy. Depending on the severity of your psoriasis, I have a friend who recently spent a week in a clinic in Melbourne as an outpatient to have light therapy done. The only cost was the medication as the treatment was on medicare.

The improvement is amazing the only thing she needed to consider was overcoming the sensitivity to sunlight. To learn more I would enquire with your GP as a referral is needed to have the treatment done

Hope this helps and all the best with welcoming back shiny healthy hair and scalp!
