PR companies
Hey Beauties
I was watching a video on youtube.
One girl had the 3 new collections from MAC sent to her for FREE.
They where sent by a PR Company
I was wondering if anyone knows how this works. Does a PR work for a person? or another company?
I just really want some information on it all. As i really want to expand my youtube channel and soon a blog.
Love Mel

Figured this was the best place to put this…
Need some advice on how to get in touch with PR not necessarily because I want free stuff but moreso because I want to keep in the loop about new products etc… Any ideas? Or do you have to wait for them to come to you?
Im with 4 PR companies Some how some fell into my hands via twitter and now I am on there system. Some are due to the Australian Beauty Bloggers weekend.
If you got to http://www.beautydirectory.com.au and sign up there will be a list of all PR companies. Then from there just email them about yourself, your blog and stats on your traffic

I am sometimes sent products from new collections or launches from various brands. Most of the time it’s to keep me using their products and to make me recommend their products. Other times it’s because i’ve made friends with various HR and PR representatives because of my close relationship with the cosmetic brands I use.
Brands will send out free products to people who they think will help them sell their brand, which is why they will send to people like YouTube Vloggers or Beauty Bloggers who have a lot of followers. It’s good advertising.
Rebeccalife what’s your blog/vlog address? would love to have a read :o)

Basically what I was going to say!
Yeah re: 3 collections of MAC I am imagining they have a massive amount of subscribers and a whole lot more views.
When I was first contacted by a PR company (a while ago now) I kind of had no idea about all this lol!
They are great to keep in contact with for press releases, see whats coming up etc. -

I just wrote a long reply but my husky decided it was play time and jumped on my laptop and deleted it because she’s a little cow.
For now some quick advice. Usually Companies use PR companies to scout potentials but usually those potentials already have a high subscriber rate or viewer count so first suggestion would be to build that up with the same philosophy.
They whore themselves to you so you whore yourself around by leaving video responses for reviews on products on a companies youtube or link a review on their blogs etc or link a video response to those already on youtube who are getting those kinds of things to get noticed and in the mean time keep building up your reviews and such with free samples. Doesn’t matter WHAT product you’re reviewing just how you conduct your reviews to companies because if you’re loving a product that’s not theirs and you’re doing a great review they’re going to want you to try out theirs.
Also, leave an email address in your profile specifically for that reason, if companies want to send you things for your consideration to review.
I’ll write up more about getting in contact with PR beauty companies later for you. 🙂
