Thanks girls,I went to the post office this morning and they showed me the tracking number.Apparently the system has changed and I would need to phone the number provided to see where my parcel is. AND the post office lady also told me that it could take as long as 3 weeks for the package to arrive. It wasn’t sent express just registered so she suggested waiting at least another 3 working days before I phone the tracking number as after only 10 days they won’t have any info to give me!I’m shocked…I was expecting delivery to be within a week which is what their site says.Oh well live and learn I guess!!!!

It the same for international shipping takes up to 14 days but they cant do anything before 31 days are up. The whole postal service needs to be fixed.

Thanks girls for the replies! I was thinking that maybe the floods have held things up. Also I’m a bit lost about the tracking number, where exactly do I find iut on the receipt? There is a barcode thing at the top of the slip and I tried this online but it didn’t come up with anything.GRRRRR..why can’t things just work the way they are supposed to:(

    Hi Nyxen,
I posted an express satchel from QLD to NSW on Friday and asked the post lady how long it would take… she said usually only next day delivery (in my case Monday)…

However, the floods have caused major issues. She said fingers crossed it could take up to 3 days. Which is way long for express. But a lot of the routes between QLD suburbs and from NSW to QLD are cut off so its a matter of when the waters are clear. Dont panic too much until the worst of this flood passes. As mentioned above, check if there’s a tracking number. Usually when you post something there’s a little sticker that you pull off the envelope or satchel and keep it aside, and it says tracking # on it. So take a look at anything that came off your parcel like a sticker or a carbon copy, the number should be on there.

    :o)

Nyxen, perhaps the flooding has delayed delivery? I know Aust Post in Brisbane was telling people to hold off sending non-urgent parcels and letters, as road closures etc are making it difficult to deliver on time. The good thing about Registered mail is that you have a tracking number, and it may even be covered by insurance? BG15’s suggestion is the way to go, see if you can find where it is at in the AP system

yeah take the tracking number to australia post, you can phone them and chase it up!!

Aus Post is notoriously unreliable…. I’ve had things arrive within a day or two of sending them, and I’ve had things take weeks, it’s kind of a lucky dip with them. Did you get a tracking number for the registered post? If so you can enter that into the auspost website http://www.auspost.com.au just on the left hand side and it’ll tell you the status of your item. Good Luck hope it arrives soon!
