Please Help

Why is when i apply my foundation in the morning it looks pretty good but at the end of the day I look like a train wreck. I have combination skin and tend to sweat quiet abit in the warmer weather. I apply Macs Prep and Prime before foundation but it only lasts for so long. I end up looking really caked on. How can I achieve that natural looking flawless skin that lasts all day. I’ve tried makeup from Revlon and Mac but wasnt overly impressed.

I swear by oil blotting papers if your having trouble with oily skin – they soak all the oil right up and you don’t have to reapply powder and give yourself the dreaded caked on make up look.

I would reccomend Swisspers Blotting Paper and you can get them at most Priceline stores.

    🙂

Bella Boo – do you use powder to set your makeup and keep it matte?

Some of you ladies wanted to try the Mirenesse acne skincare. They have some for free at the moment you do have to pay the freight http://www.mirenesse.com/catalogue/c6/c118/c269/p2857

    cheers

I would be using a mattifier to help your makeup stay put – I can’t rave enough about the Dermalogica clearing mattifier – as it clears your skin whilst keeping it shine free, which means your makeup won’t slide off. A translucent powder brushed over your foundation is also helpful in helping to soak up excess oil.

At least they won’t go to waste darl 🙂

  • Mel, I bought the Australis one a couple of months ago, then had some problems and didn’t wear makeup for 6 weeks! I’ll see how it goes. If it’s not as good as the Clinique or the Shisedo that I used before that, I’ll do as I’m doing with the Inglot one that is crap on the oily skin of my face.

I take my makeup all the way down to the edge of my bra because the skin tone isn’t good and I contour and highlight around the cleavage. The skin there is not as oily as my face. I’m using the Inglot primer and an older similarly crap foundation (slightly paler than the face colour) from neck to bra, and save the good stuff for my face. 🙂

I might try the Loreal one next.

Good one Alice I hope you like it for about $10 it is a real steal. I can’t compare it to something like Clinique though because I have only ever used FOA and Australis (cheapie one’s) as I have found them to be good value and they do the trick. Have you checked out the new loreal secrets one Alice, the trial team loved it and I am keen to try that one when I am due for my next primer 🙂

  • I have combination skin. It’s oily, with an extra oily t zone. I have extensive redness and huge pores plus a few acne scars and the occasional break out. Basically a more severe version of the same problem that you have, Bella.

I’m with Madamebfatale on this. I have tried a lot of different long-lasting foundations and the one I use now is Estee Lauder Double Wear. With a light dusting of powder to blot the oil every 4 to 5 hours, it still looks good after 12 hours.

I’m using a Clinique primer now but when I finish it (in the next week or two) I’m going to try the Australis one that Mel recommended a while ago.
