Omnilux Light Therapy
Hello, I was just wondering if any of you had undergone Omnilux blue or red light therapy. I have old acne scars I want to get rid of and was hoping this may help?

I`m surprised no one has written anything further about Omnilux (apart from Jackie`s recent review) as it seems to be more prevalent these days. I had my first treatment last week and wanted to share my experience and this is the only post I can find (apart from a callout in regards to questions you want answered from bh). Anyhow, considering the light I “”saw”” was red I believe I received the red light treatment. Towards the end there was however a flash of blue.
READ THIS IF YOU WANT TO KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT DURING THE TREATMENT ITSELF:
So what happened? First of all I received my Mandelic peel to remove all dead skin from my face and ensure the best results of the Omnilux light therapy. A gel was applied afterwards and it started to tingle my skin. Cotton pads were then placed on my closed eyes followed by some tiny goggles which strapped to my head. The therapist then told me that I should expect a light which can be “”sore”” on the eyes. The first light was bright at first yet I quickly adjusted. The second light was blinding! I honestly wasn`t sure if I would see again afterwards. I didn`t know where to look as anywhere I moved my eyeballs would still “”hurt”” my eyes. Towards the end of the treatment my eyes had adjusted and eventually the light turned to blue for a brief time and then the machine switched off. I barely noticed any difference in my skin afterwards and there was minimal redness (any would have been from the peel). A couple days later I started to peel around my nose/chin area but again I believe this to be from the peel as the therapist told me to expect this.
I`ll update you all soon on how I have found my skin to be (taking into consideration that I also had a skin needling session 4 weeks ago) 🙂

Interesting update…
My breakout seems to have cleared, and leading up to my period, I didn`t get the customary nasty pimples on my neck. Maybe the blue light is helping with this?
I am continuing on with my treatment, my girlfriend is letting me hang on to the machine for a few more weeks, she`s great! Tonight I will do another session of blue light. -

Anitaaa I forgot to say I am using MD formulations peel pads in conjunction with the blue and red light, I wash my face and use the peel pad and then the light.
Your explanation makes sense as to why I would be getting breakouts, as they are a different type of pimple to what I normally get. My skintone is looking better, the problem is just the breakouts. I`ll give it a few more weeks. -

Thanks for sharing your experiences, bluerose, beautygeek and Anitaa. I`ve also thought about having this done as it seems quite effective so I`m interested in hearing your opinions about the results and whether you think it`s worth the cost. : )
