Oily Skin

Hi Girls,

I have combination skin with the occassional breakout. I cleanse, tone and moisturise every day. I use a mud mask 2 times a week (when I’m being good :op). I wear foundation for work,I conceal my spots and powder. No matter what, without a doubt, it slides off my face not long after I’ve applied it. Is there something I’m doing wrong? Or is there a product I can use to reduce the oiliness? I’ve tried that Nivea Young – Control Shine Gel Cream but it tends to make it worse, meaning, it slides off more quickly. Any advice girls would be greatly appreciated! xx

i have combi skin aswell ans can be very oily, and have had makeup slide off before, my powder makes it worse, but my foundation is great, lancome, and its oil free, it has to be oil free. but i will be converting to mineral once my foundation is finished as its supposed to be great for the skin. i use all things oil free, and dr lewinns moisturiser, and its great and also a toner from a company in new york whick i cant remember, all natural no chemicals, and has acctually improved my skin, now very few break-out but still lots on my chin. dont know why…
best to see what works and some products you have to pay a lot for, and read whats in them.
I have tried tinted moisturiser, and made things worse.
and dont touch your face during the day.
    hope this does help. 🙂

Style Queen….I am not advertising. I am merely trying to help someone who has a problem that I have been through and have been able to find some products that have worked for me, that`s all.
She also has a book out called “”Don`t go to the cosmetics counter without me”” – I borrowed it from my local library and it really is quite an interesting read and will make you think twice about some products. In my case it helped me to avoid the products which “”claimed”” to help but in actual fact was making it worse.

I`ve started using the dermologica oily skin kit and it`s working wonders. I`ve started with the kit to see if my skin actually likes it. I`m loving it. I use liquid foundation (sometimes liquid to powder) and set with pressed powder and it stays. I love blotting paper from The Body Shop without the powder cos putting powder on all day can clog pores. If you want to cheat a little just use primer without moisteriser cos primers now are very moisterising for the skin with their Rosehip Oil etc etc. I love Napoleon and Natio Ageless primers. Let us know how you go.

your excess oiliness maybe hormonal, if you have tried everything and noticing a very oily complextion stil, then go to your doctor, but its nothing to be concerned about, your young, hormonal, and thats what happens you get excess oiliness, but dont stress 2 much it will soon go, also try blotting papers, you use them during the day, bloom stock blotting papers also many other brands, terrific for getting rid of excess shine and oiliness, also proactive, makes all the oil completely go

Hi, I also have combination skin which tends to break out and my skin was always oily no matter what type of makeup or skincare I used. I finally found a skincare which keeps the oiliness at bay and also keeps the break outs to a bare minimum. Try this website http://www.paulaschoice.com.au . This website is from the “”Cosmetics Cop”” from the USA Paula Begoun. You would be surprised what mistakes we are all making with out skincare and makeup out there. Unfortunately they are only an online store but are very prompt in delivery.
Also try using the new Cetaphil cleanser for oily skin – it`s great. It`s very affordable (about $16 for 500ml) and available at all Priceline and most chemists. I now just wear a tinted moisturiser and a little bit of powder and my skin feels better now at 40 than when I was 15. I`ve also found that the pressed powder from Australis is very good and quite light.

Have you tried using a powder foundation that is oil-free? Such as Mineral Powders? They help to make your skin shine-free and have SPF

You can use blotting paper too or a mattifier before you put your foundation on

Using powder makes oily skin less noticible.
