Oh Joy! With weather change comes skin change :/

As I sit here typing this my face feels like it is about to split down my nose, the skin is so tight.

Have just applied more moisturiser and now my face feels thick and heavy sigh

Let me explain.. In summer my skin is extremely oily (T-zone), I have to use blotting sheets about once every hour but my skin often feels dry.. right now I can see the oil shine around my nose, forehead and chin but the skin feels dry and tight and I’m pretty sure my moisturiser is making matters worse. I’m sure it’s soaking in because my cheeks and neck don’t feel greasy from product but they don’t feel hydrated either.. it’s like my skin is screaming for a drink and I don’t have anything to give it!

In winter my skin is extremely dry (T-zone again), I often have flaking and any foundation or tint is usually a no go because the colour just makes it more obvious.

So I decided to browse the moisturisers, day creams and night treatment products and discovered there are 88 pages!!! I can narrow it down a lot because I simply can not spend a large amount on beauty products but to go through and have to read all the reviews to find someone who seems like they deal with the same issues I do will take a week of spare time!

So I’m hoping and praying that someone will be able to suggest a product that I can try.. something that doesn’t leave a residue (eww I can’t stand it, I just cleaned my skin I don’t need to feel like it’s overloaded already!), is very hydrating and suitable for sensitive skin oh and the cheaper the better!

I should maybe mention I have just started using Biore blemish fighting ice cleanser, warming anti-blackhead cream cleanser and pore unclogging scrub, they all leave my skin feeling quite dry but I’m not ready to give up on them because I think I see improvement in my blackhead happy nose and chin. The moisturiser I use is MooGoo Udder Cream which I really like but I don’t think it’s giving my face what it needs any more, after a few years I think my skin has become bored of it lol

Ugh sorry for such a long ranting post but I wanted to make sure you had all the info I could think of.. going to moisturise again.. skin isn’t happy right now

I use to Use QV but its abit oily for my skin and it actually isnt very good for putting on make up after wards but now I am a Cetaphil and aveeno girl 🙂 both great for eczema prone skin!

I have had eczema for 20 off years now.. used probably every single product on the market 🙁

oh my god.. 20 years! I’m blessed not to have it on my face, I have a specific type that affects my hands and feet, my face just reacts badly to a lot of products so I tend to go for the sensitive range in skincare. I might see if I can get some QV and Aveeno samples rather than buying whole bottles, I’ve just been looking at what I have lying around and I think i have enough moisturiser to last me about 2 years lol

    Thanks Ladies 🙂

I always have a bunch of cetaphil products on hand but find they aren’t quite what I’m looking for when it comes to my face but are perfect for my body. they do moisturise my skin nicely but leave a heavy feeling on my skin and often make my t-zone worse when I’m dealing with oily skin during summer.

My skin is transitioning right now, today was very warm in melbourne so I’m an oil slick at the moment.

I will check out the Dr Lewinn’s coles range.. I’ve liked a few of their products in the past so they could possibly hold what i’m looking for and I’ll definitely give something in the QV range a go.

I received a sample of Vegesorb moisturiser today, very similar to some of the cetaphil moisturisers (was praying for my miracle product lol) and mum suggested I use her Elizabeth Arden moisturiser that she buys but never uses lol so i’ll give that a go before I pop out and buy something else. I just about have a million bottles that have been potential face moisturisers which have been demoted to body moisturisers because I’m too damn fussy about the skin on my face lol.

The MooGoo cream is for very sensitive skin, a friend has eczema and it’s the only range she can use without it flaring up.
Maybe try a moisturiser that is very nourishing. I have a very similar skin type to you Zaralis. Right now my t-zone a little oily, and in winter my cheeks are dry. The Biore warming cleanser feels nice, but my skin is tight afterwards. So if you’re going to use products like that, find a moisturiser formularted for combination skin, so you’re checks are well nourished and your t-zone is well hydrated.
Ultraceuticals skincare range is a little pricey but I’ve heard rave reviews about them. It’s a medically tested brand so you know they will have great results. I’m having an Ultraceuticals facial in the next few weeks, so I’ll let you know how the products go.
    🙂

I have tried all the Ultraceuticals moisturisers and most of the products and although the moisturiser is perfect for me, I have really oily skin and I am pretty sure it will not be anywhere near as nourishing enough for anyone with dry skin. Most people with dry skin have complained that the moisturisers are not hydrating enough, which is a shame, but perfect for oily skinned beauties like me, lol.

You could try the new range from Dr Lewinn’s that is available at Coles. There was an article about it on BH a few weeks ago.

Cetaphil also has excellent moisturisers for sensitive skin and is very cheap. X

An excellent affordable range of moisturisers are the QV Face ones, they have a Nurturing Night Cream, which might be ideal and a Day Cream with spf that is lightweight as well as nourishing so that could be something worth checking out??
