Sorry, but I so DO NOT feel sorry for retail assistants – been there and done it myself, and well, Xmas time it is just busy and thats how it is – if you dont like it, then dont work in retail, and at least not in a shoppingcentre that is often having late nights – or simply go find yourself a 9-5 job!!

Nope no overtime!! You only get overtime if you`re on a full or part time contract and you work beyond your contracted hours – or between the hours of midnight and 7am I think it is?

I totally felt sorry for the shop assistants, they were doing their best and kept a sense of humour but there were just not enough of them. I was trying to alleviate the stress by having a laugh and joke with the ones that served me. They were all understandably looking forward to closing time. I hope they were being paid good overtime for that.
