I don`t think it matters all that much Saltine, many beauties could find this information useful if they are too shy to ask

Hi Gabzilla, I`m a freelance alternative model who`s been in the industry since I was 15. Ultimately, your height will determine whether or not you suit the modelling industry – most agencies won`t take on girls shorter than 5`7″”, preferably taller. I`m 5`5″” but the alternative photography industry is much more relaxed and accepting about different body types and individuality.

I think you`d need to sign with a “”plus size”” agency if you want to take up modelling, not because I think you`re plus size (size 10 is definitely not large), but because stylists at fashion shoots are given what clothing is left on the racks – and that clothing is usually size 6. Stylists have to work with what they have, hence why the industry standard is size 6-8.

OMG… I am fairly large for an asian woman (size 8) and the last time I managed to squeeze into a size 6 was when I was…. 16??
Guess modelling isn`t in the cards for me!

Size 10 isn`t really plus sized though 🙂 You have to be tall unless you`re doing bikini modeling for blokes mags, I know girls that have been really sucessfull with Ralph and they`re shorter than my 168cm and curvy. To get into that enter their yearly comps that are held all over the country. If you want to be a more respectable model try hair modelling as some of the beauties suggested. Good luck

Maybe get yourself signed up with a talent agency and try and get your foot in the door with some advertising gigs. At least in you`ve been seen on the TV or catalogues you`ve got professional experience.
