Mascara Thinner.

I have heard that it is now possible to buy thinner for mascara so when it inevitably turns gluggy you can return it to its former glory.

Anyone know where I can buy it???

Yes, I also add water, but I used distilled water.

Yes, I think I’ll so the same. I have heard you can run your mascara under hot water before use but I worry that would affect the life of the ingredients eventually.

You want to know my secret to restore your mascara to brand new when that happens? And I say its my secret because I thought of it and it works!

Add 2-3 drops of fresh water from the tap (i use filtered) on your mascara brush, and then put the wand back in the bottle. Viola! Non-clumpy mascara and you can continue to use the rest of the bottle. You may need to repeat 2-3 times though, just depends what brand it is. Or you can lightly run your mascara wand under the tap, then put the wand back in the bottle. Crazy, I know… but it works!

I will SO try that. I wasn’t sure if mascara was water based but clearly it must be. I tried nail polish thinner but that didn’t work. Many thanks!

Mum has always added some boiled water …just a drop or two.
i hardly do it tho …. i just spend the amt on a new one as i like to turn them over very often as it is more hygenic.

huh i never thought of adding water, i guess it figures, since the mascara goes gluggy because water has evaporated.
