MAC Pro Palette – which 15 must have eyeshadow should I get?

Hi Beauties,

So I really want to get a Mac Pro Palette, probably the 15 shadow palette. But I haven’t been able to buy it yet as it’s not available on maccosmetics.com.au and there is no MAC Pro store in Canberra.. so I will have to wait until my next trip to Sydney to get it.

Anyway, I thought I research about the colours to put in the palette before I get the palette so I have some kind of idea about what colours to get. After looking on the web, there are so many MAC eyeshadow colours I want to get.

So my question is: can you recommend the must have 15 MAC eyeshadows for my first MAC pro palette?

For your info, I’ve got a fair to medium asian skin (NC25 – NC30) and I have brown eyes and very dark brown/black hair. I think I want to have a mix of browns, beige/light colours, purples and pinks in my palette but there’s so much to choose from it’s so hard to decide.

All Cosmetics Wholesale now stock empty palettes and some refills, I’d start there!
    Jest or Naked Lunch
    Carbon
    All that Glitters
    Gesso
    Vanilla
    Sketch
    Satin Taupe
At first I’d try and stick to Matte’s and Veluxe Pearls.

    Brule
    Blanc Type
    Ricepaper
    Shroom
    Satin Taupe
    Woodwinked
    All That Glitters
    Soba
    Cork
    Wedge
    Expensive Pink
    Cranberry
    Haux
    Concrete
    Carbon or Black Tied

That would be my 15-pallette wish list with your needs and colouring in mind. I haven’t got any purples in there, but purples are very subjective – you’ll know which ones you want when you see them and swatch them.

I agree with brule. I rather like soba as a mid-tone brown. Mystery is a good dark brown, or charcoal brown, which is slightly lighter.

I love mac lustre shadows and mythology is a really pretty colour – sort of a frosted browny pink. It’s very similar to expensive pink, which I also have. Antiqued is a shade that works perfectly with these colours. It’s a veluxe pearl in a warm bronze shade.

I was thinking about getting the stars n rockets shadow (a purple), which seems really popular, but I ended up getting silver ring (a med-light grey) that I haven’t used yet.

I use mylar as a highlighter, it’s not quite white but more of a cream shade that’s pretty natural. A true white would be handy though.

The only colours I don’t tend to use in my mac palette are goldmine and bronze, but I’m sure these will come in handy with some looks in the future 🙂

I only have a couple of MAC shadows so here are my suggestions.

Brule (as per Stacci’s recommendation) – a must have neutral colour that can be used as a base or highlighter
Satin Taupe – a great taupe shadow that many people say is a must have. Great with dark brown shades.

    Have fun with your research.

DEFTINITELY Carbon is a must have in a pro palette.

If I get the names wrong, for all those MAC lovers out there because I have been literally slammed before for getting names wrong, so me! 😛 I’m not a HUGE Mac lover so my names might be a little off. Feel free to correct me for Ina though without the stupid remarks that I screwed up the names.

    Also:
    – Goldmine: It’s a frosted light gold and it’s excellent for everyday wear.
    – Woodwinked or Tempting for a crease colour maybe
    – Gesso, White Frost or Crystal Avalanche as a highlighter maybe?
    – Brule is a muted creamy beige.
    – Swish is a night soft bright pink.
    – Hush, Hadwritten & Swiss Chocolate also.

Um. That should be a start but definitely check those ones out, I have a friend with the same skin as you and some of those colours are what she uses for every day looks and it looks great.

    • Maybe also trax, star violet, antiqued, amberlights, Plum Dressing is another colour I recently just got, it’s a purple and it’s lovely.
