Lip liner???

Hey everyone,

I have a question about lip liner. I know that if you’re going to wear a bold lip colour, you need lip liner. I don’t really want to buy a matching lip liner for each lipstick I own, but am I right in that you can use a nude/pink whatever is the same as your natural lip colour) liner under any shade of lipstick? Or am I completely wrong? :S

Thank you!!! 😀

Great minds think alike Madame 🙂
I am eyeing this one for a long time now but I don’t wear lipstick often enough to justify buying it 🙂

^ I was just about to suggest that! I have one from Paula Dorf and it works great with Lip Tars.

You can also get clear/skintone lip liner that will prevent feathering and match all lipstick colors. Too Faced has got one like that…here’s the link:

Yes just use a nude liner it will be fine.
Usually if you use a lipliner your lippy wont feather and you can better shape your lips.I always colour in my whole lip area with the liner so that when the lippy wears off I’m not left with just an outline. Also it means your lips will always have some colour no matter how long you go between lipstick applications.

    Hi Lani18

Yes you are right according to many beauty articles. A nude lip liner that matches your natural lip colour can be worn with any shade of lipstick.

I am a lippie queen and have used this method for many years with no problems at all. Of course, there are times when I like to match a wonderful lip colour with a lip liner and that is usually when I want to indulge myself!

I do have several coloured lip liners in addition to nude and some days I like to colour my lips with the liner and then add a coloured gloss on top. You can achieve so many different looks doing this. So, if you like to experiment, suggest you get a couple of lip liners in a colour you like and have fun. x

Hi, Im kinda new with makeup on the lips and all and just wondering why we need lipliner? Is it meant to last longer or something? I usually just apply foundation on my lips and let it dry and then put lipstick on.. please fill me in! 😀

You can use a nude lip liner or if it’s for a bold lip you can also use concealer just around it to create a perfect line…
