Lighter hair without dying?

My hair was blonde when I was younger but has gotten darker over the years, it is now a medium brown with a lot of blonde streaks (natural) througout it, I want to acheive a lighter overall shade. Are there any remedies or natural ways of doing this with out standing in the sun for 6 hours?

Thanks

Lemon juice, it does work except it dries your hair out.

Wow this is really cool! I too remember using a similar product but it was a mousse! I might have to research this more. It seems like an easier way of getting a balayage type effect.

okay so I`ve done two more applications of the *Loreal Sunkiss Jelly* (so now 5 in total).
    picture below.

my hair is definitely lighter. some of the ends are really blonde!
I`m really happy with the results. I think I`m done.

I mostly focused the product from ear length down and did some longer sections too.

I think my hair is a tiny bit dry, but nothing I`m too concerned about.
I think a couple of oil treatments and it`ll be all fine 🙂

in the pic my hair looks a bit frazzled but thats just because its freshly washed and I literally just finished blow drying so my hair hadn`t settled 🙂

Oh wow your hair has lightened quite significantly! Looks really natural!

Oh wow swooping, your hair looks gorgeous.
I used something like this years ago. I have no idea what brand it was, but Sun In seems to ring a bell. I might have to look into this. Wouldn`t mind trying it for myself.

I used Sun In when I was younger and it dried out my hair pretty bad. maybe I over did it though.

so far with Sunkiss my hair is feeling good 🙂

I was a bit worried to but its a really gradual effect so I don`t think it`ll be too bad 🙂

also I figure my hair naturally has golden tones and some red in it so if it goes a bit brassy I don`t think it`ll matter all that much 😛

Go speak your haie dresser she/he may have some suggestions maybe even putting a toner over you hair might help. I looked up natural remedies on the internet before for lightening of the hair also and i think i red something about lemon juice but i can`t be sure, i know if you have red hair and what do do what you want to do they say use beetroot, Or even try and blonde shampoo that might help i love loreal series expert blonde it always makes my highlights more prominate.

I have heard that putting lemon juice in your hair can “”naturally”” lighten hair BUT it is very bad for your hair making it go dry and breakable (you may also need to sit in the sun for 6 hours before you seen any change) I would not recommend it.

So I think the best solution would be to buy a product like Sunsilk Custom Highlights or Sun-in. These work gradually, the more you use the lighter your hair goes. I have used both and was really happy with the results.
