It’s Always Curly
My hair is curly and never sits right. I have longish curly hair and it looks like it’s a bob when dry. I was wondering if anyone knew of a product that helps curly hair stay down instead of out?

aww, but if Pantene works for you, you can still use it but you use another brand’s clarifying shampoo once a week.
I use Wella hair mousse, Schwarzkopf make some really good ones too. Have you thought about using a styling balm like Moosehead? I find that it works with me better than mousse, as I have frizzy hair problems with my cowlick – right in the front of my face where bangs should be. It gets worse with humidity, damn you summer humidity!!

thanks bide 🙂 yeah my haridresser kinda gave me that lecture lol now im using loreal techni art spiral splendour and for hold im using matrix styling gelee. Im still not 100% happy with the hold though, i notice my hair is still frizzy buy the end of the day..i prefer the texture of mousse its easier for me..can anyone suggest a good mousse for curly hair that holds well but dosent look or feel crunchy?

makeupaddiction, it’s because Pantene uses a mixture of silicone and sulfur in their shampoos and conditioners, as well as some of their treatments. So while it makes most people’s hair instantly gorgeous, it causes long-term problems and you have problems the minute you stop using it and switch to another brand that doesn’t use silicone.
Long-term use of Pantene causes major silicone build up in your hair, which weighs it down. If you’re intent on using Pantene use a clarifying shampoo once a week to get rid of the silicone build up.

i have very think curly hair too just got it trimmed today after about 4 months..it was well overdue!
i used to use matrix curl life but that didnt to a great deal i am now using loreal techniart spiral splendour and it is so far doing the job pretty well. I find that putting layers into my hair makes it lighter and easier to manage. Talk to your hairdresser to see what would best suit your type of curls they know thats their job 🙂
btw, farah i used to use the pantene curling products also and i thought they were amazing my hair looked graet! until i told my hairdresser and she kinda turned me off using them cos it aparently causes damage in the long run..dam! -

there are different kinds of treatments. There are some at home relaxing creams I’ve seen when I lived in the US, but I have no idea how long they work for or how well they work. definitely go see your hairdresser as there are different kinds of relaxers (some permanent, some temporary) and different kinds of straight perms. I’ve seen straight perms advertised for about $700 around Sydney, but I think you have to have a specific hair type to get them. Shop around with different hairdressers, and my advice is to get it done by someone specialising in straightening.
