Insulin resistance syndrome

Hi lovely ladies,
I am just wondering if anyone has some recipes or ideas for snacks that are suitable for the above condition. (I know about nuts and rice crackers and fruit in moderation) Any help would be much appreciated. I dont go back to the dietician for another 3 weeks.

No probs Jenniqua, I am a diabetic so I know exactly what raises my blood sugar. I had prediabetes but unfortunately pregnancy tipped me over the edge. I had gestational diabetes and now I am stuck with the stupid condition. Still, it was worth it to have my son 🙂 And yes, I have a massive struggle with my weight. Have lost 30 kg but need to lose heaps more. Good luck with it all, am happy to answer any questions for you. 🙂

Thank you soooooo much Hooha, as you can see there have been no other replies. Maybe everyone else is lucky to have had nothing to do with it.LOL You have given me some very helpful hints, and as I am doing some shopping this afternoon, I will put all of the above on my list.
Have you struggled with your weight from this? I certainly have, and the portion sizes are extremely important to me not only for my blood sugar but also for my weight.
Again thank you for your very helpful reply.

Hi Jenniqua, I like vita wheat crackers with a small amount of cheese or peanut butter. Chick nuts or the dried broad beans are ok if you stick to the correct portion sizes. A small amount of yoghurt is good but check the sugar content of the low fat ones. Plain Greek style is nice, Black Swan makes a nice one that is both low sugar and low fat. I would stay away from rice crackers as they will raise your blood sugar. Hommous is also yummy with vege sticks, if you like that sort of thing. Hope this helps 🙂
