Ingrown Nails

ok so this is a little less glamourous but i have the beginning of ingrowns on both of my big toes on the outer side of the nail and now it seems to be happening on the inner side of both. i wear mostly open toe shoes and when enclosed they are really comfy. any ideas on why this may be happening and how to stall it?

a friend with an ingrown toe nail had to have the middle of the nail sort of cut a bit (like a triangle bit cut out of the nail) so the nail would kind of pull in and grow the middle part and stop it growing inwards at the corner. Thats probably a really bad description and makes no sense lol!!

I have the same advice as GGs. Soak feet and push a bit of cotton wool under the nail to keep it away from your skin. To avoid getting these nasties, take care when cutting your nails: avoid cutting them too deep and avoid filing them too much.

awww i hate ingrown nails they absolutly hurt, they normally form from the way you cut your nails i used to cut my toe nails very short and i would find that just one tap on my bigger toe hurt me soo much then i learnt it was an ingrown, ( becareful of ingrowns they can get very veryy painfull and the worse it gets you could actually have to get a mini operation at your foot doctor) just never cut your nails to short on the edges.
