How did BH start

Thanks so much for the insight Leanne, yes BH as we know it today is so much more involving than it once was and is constantly growing, still glad there are so many old faces that pop in from time to time as well 🙂

I remember when I first joined but was too shy to chat in the forums but I did read the threads – I recall a few names from then that are still here today. Yep, Mel is one of them.
BH has just got better and better and yes I am ADDICTED.

this is so interesting .. i am relatively new to bh and its great to learn more about my brand new addiction… seriously i dont know what i used to do before there was bh to check out my beauty purchases and learn more about new products…
love it so much.. 🙂

Beautyheaven was launched as a result of its sister site beautydirectory.com.au. BD is a member-only research and information website for the Australian beauty industry and media. Back in the days when it was an open site we noticed we had a few thousand members who were students / members of the general public so we decided we would trial a new site that was less dry and a bit more fun in terms of the information and content offered. We first launched beautyheaven in about 2004 in a basic format and as the number grew we decided to re-launch it in a format more similar to the one you see today in 2007.

As melmeko rightly points out, she was one of our very first members! And over the last 3 years we have had a few Editors all of whom have brought something special to the site.

You’re right Mel, I remember being on the old site too, but can’t remember if it had a different name or not? It was heaps different though! I remember when the forum had about six posts in three threads and that was it – it took me ages to pluck up the courage to participate:) I’m still not a huge “participater”, but I read every single post, every single day and have done since day one.
Remeber when Tracey was the Editor? She was marvelous!! She went to Grazia as Beauty Editor when it launched in Australia.

Yep I sure do, I remember looking at the forums when there were no posts at all, lol, I must have been one of the first to ever post here, I was a little nervous but I guess coz there was no posts it wasn’t that intimidating 😉 Look how far the site has come though, I also loved Sarah who came after Tracey I believe and she is now at Bella apparently 🙂

And the first forum I was ever game to post in, haha, now you can’t shut me up, only have to look at my posts to see that, lol. I am happy to chat beauty any day 🙂

I use to be on another site that was Beauty Heaven before it rolled over to this site as we know it today, I can’t remember if it still use to be called BH or not, but I think so. Maybe someone else can remember a bit better than I do, but the old site was not anywhere as interactive as this one, and when this one started back in 07 that was when the forum also started, which I must say was the start of a new addiction for me, one that I still am addicted to today, hehe.

I just wan to know how the thought of it came along all the history. It would be great to know

does it say anywhere when beauty heaven came live online… i couldnt seem to find it, just curious is all….
