Help! My mum has a skincare dilemma!

Sorry for the long title…and the fact that ive made about 4-5 new threads this year. But i am really desperate. Heres the problem: My mum has been using Lancome skincare for about 20 years and never had a problem with it. She has really great skin (and im her daughter so no lying) that is glowy and only 1 or 2 major wrinkles on her face, not much else. She has been using the Lancome absolue bX skincare line for people 50-years and up (but she’s only about 42, the lancome lady kinda really reccomended it to her) from about the start of the year. She didnt have a any problems with the line until about 2 months ago, her skin started to FLAKE and PEEL whenever she used the night recovery serum, which is a night cream. Its highly unusual becuase she’s never had any reaction like this to lancome products (which she swears by), and the only reason she didnt tell me about it is beacuse she keeps forgetting.
So basically she cleanses with a milky cleanser, tones with a dry-skin toner, applies eyecream, and then night cream. But as of late (no, 2 months ago until now) , her skin has been rubbing off thin layers everytime she applies her night cream. I almost jumped out of my skin when i saw these little flakey pieces of skin in her wash basin, when she told me.
HELP! any advice, tips, reccomedations?
I am so scared for my mum, im not sure if this is normal or something, or its just her skin..(She has dry skin)…ARGH IAM FREAKING bold OUT!

Thanks guys 🙂

hi PDMUA, thank you so much for that suggestion, i do think that might be the cause , my mum has a pink lancome exfoliator for her dry skin, and she (being a beauty blank…aka not one to religiously cleanse, tone and exfoliate lol) and she literally never uses it. Thats might be the problem of this massive buildup of skin and it peeling whenver she puts the absolue on it.

Thanks Sarah! , i will tell my mum to call them if she has any other problem. (see above) She exfoliates once in a blue moon 🙁
