A lot of what I was gonna suggest has been said by the awesome beauties already, but there are a few more things you can do.
Taking Zinc tablets really help, it helps to regulate oil production and helps your skin to repair faster so it is also great if you have skin conditions like acne or dermatitis.
Omega 3 deficiencies can cause your skin/scalp to go into oil hyper-drive, so upping your intake of oily fish, nuts/seeds and eggs to make sure you are getting enough is a good idea. You could take a supplement if its more convenient.
If you are prone to oily hair, never use hot water while washing your hair. The heat over stimulates the scalp causing more oil production. Also avoid excessive heat styling (your scalp and hair will thank you).
Lastly (and this one will sound weird), don’t use shampoo’s for oily scalps, they tend to be really harsh and do more damage than good. Shampoo’s for normal hair will work better and you’ll find your scalp will become less oily over time.
Hope this helps 🙂
Thanks for that dear:)
I seriously feel like because I have joined BH I dont even need to go to the doctors any more <3

I agree with the suggestions, I have really oily roots, but it makes it worse if you wash it all the time, so its best to let it go for a few days and try and use dry shampoo on the days you don’t wash. I find an apple cider vinegar rinse works well at getting rid of all the build up from products in your hair, which can make it more greasy 🙂
Yes darl, try looking for the one in the health food section though as it has the mother in it and is supposed to be much better, the basic one in the vinegar section will work OK too though 😉
how many times do u use this apple cider vinegar and do u rinse ur hair with it after shampoo and conditioner? or just plain dirty hair in need of a hairwash with just apple cider vinegar?
Usually just once a fortnight darl, as you would use a clarifying shampoo, this is just a natural home remedy version that is very effective 🙂
I do this too, sometimes I can’t stand the smell!! BUT it’s better than having greasy hair so you don’t have to worry about it til the next wash!

Its really imoportant never to put conditioner on the roots as it will usually always lead to greasy/oily roots. If your hair is dry on the ends & oily at the roots a good hair masque popped onto the mid lengths/ends that are dry and avoiding the roots should help. Like black magic suggests, if possible its best to try wash hair every few days or you do stimulate extra natural oil production. I recently had oily roots (first time ever) butit was because i used my masque and applied it to my roots, bad mistake, lol. Only my ends needed the moisture and I ended up with oily limp roots 🙁

I was told by my hairdresser when applying conditioner never condition the root area, only condition the length and ends. I always used to condition all over but now do mainly the ends as the roots tend to get oily anyway.
Also this may sound strange but wash your hair less. The more you wash your hair, the more your head produces oil. So in between washes (every 2 days minimum) use Batiste on the roots and brush it out with a blowdryer.
Also many conditioners contain gunky ingredients. Especially supermarket brands such as Pantene, Garnier and Sunsilk. If you want a cheap product that doesn’t leave build up try Organic Care. It’s fantastic. The shampoo does not contain SLS in it. If you want a more expensive brand then Alkemy is fantastic. My mum swears by it. She’s nearly 60 and has lush thick hair with little fallout and hair clarity without the gunky residue. SLS causes hair fallout and many supermarket brands contain SLS (except organic care of course).
Not sure if you know any of this but thought I’d give you all the tips I know just in case 🙂
Thank you so much blackmagic:) Im going to try using some organic brands now and try to take care of my hair as much as i do with my face 🙂

I’m glad 🙂 You will notice a difference. 🙂
