Hair Lice Prevention

I just made this treatment for a girlfriend whose little one came home from school with a Lice Alert in the first week back, she has not had them yet but all her friends have. Anyway, a fabulous and inexpensive preventative treatment for Lice is ……….drum roll…………. rub a few drops of oil (almond, apricot, olive, jojoba) between your hands and then smooth over your childs hair. I made this one with jojoba, lavender, rosemary, west indian bay & virginian cedarwood. Put a little more on if they are going swimming as apparently lice can sit on the water, ewwww.
oh you can also put it through your own hair, it’s a lovely treatment, just use it sparingly. lol:)

I`ve been told that headlice hate the smell of mouthwash, so I fill a spritzer with Listerine, and spray it on my girls` hair.

I also comb some gel through their hair – it`s supposed to help.

I`ve been taking these preventative measures ever since my older daughter had lice. It was a NIGHTMARE – took F-O-R-E-V-E-R to get rid of.

yeah, it just doesn`t smell great for the kiddies. they have a much stronger sense of smell than we do. if you`re going to do something like that i would suggest Lavender as well or instead of.

havent had lice since preschool but think tea tree oil is good to keep them off the hair
you can get tea tree oil shampoos

Great idea on the oils Princess, I`ll tell the other mums at my son`s primary school!
