GHD Curls
Does anyone know or been taught how to do lose curls with a GHD? My hairdresser tried showing me but I just couldn’t do it.
Besides its a bit weird making curls from a straightener lol.

It took me a little while to be able to do it too, I used to get friends to do it for me. With practice you will get better. Just keep trying, it will happen xx

that`s a great way of describing it Madamebfatale! That is how I do mine too, and it works really well. I have issues sectioning my hair though because it is really long and thick and layered, but the curling action is so simple. You just put a small section in the ghd near the roots, turn the ghd on a right angle or around a bit further and pull the hair through.

The only way i can explain it is you know when you curl a ribbon with scissors? Well just like that with the iron, curve it round when your pulling the hair through. hth

I have mastered it!! I get so many compliments when I do it also =) I hate the barrel curls look, yuk! This is really hard to explain and sounds strange but I`ll give it a shot! I section the hair down the middle, then starting from the bottom and working my way up I take sections of hair about 4 x 4 wide I then coil the hair around and around then clamp the GHD for about 30 seconds and let go, voila – gorgeous curls! If your hair is naturally straight, wash and themn put mousse in to hold the curl. If your hair is wavy, wash as per normal and just put hairspray in before and then of course after to set. If this is really confusing – send me an email – michelle591@hotmail.com, I`ll take pictures of the process hehe

Hi Emj, I have one of the older models of GHD … and YES … the newer ones are more rounded! If your one has a safety switch which turns your GHD off after it has not been used for a certain time then you definately have the newer rounded model.
I also have probs with my curling technique and took “”Pretty Princess”” advice with utube. THANKS … they were alot of help! I think only practice can help me from here on out! CHEERS ladies.
