Getting up my goat!

thanks for the tip alicejane i guess what annouys me is just rude people in general and those who judge and nit pick at little things people do, like this customer at work had a go at me because i handed him is change to him in a weird unprofessiona wayl wtf! I got it out of the draw and gave it to him! I think some people just like to have a go to make their parthetic lives seem better, society needs to be more patient and accepting and why are customers so much ruder in a supermarkert or fruit shop when they have to wait a couple of minutes to be served but when they are left waiting half an hour in a post office or bank you hear no complaints?!

Woo Hoo! I`ve fixed the avatar problem on my computer, and in doing so I have confirmed that it is the site and not the uploaded photos that are causing the problem.

What is happening is that the site software is resizing the images when they are uploaded so that they are 80px on their long side, but it is keeping the original dimensions of the uploaded image, so when the image is displayed, it gets stretched back to the original size, which also explains why they turn grainy. Hopefully if the BH staff can pass this paragraph on to their web people, they`ll be able to fix the problem. Oh, and if someone posts a web link in the text column, all text in that column seems to get wrapped at the length of the longest web link, making a lot of text disappear off the frame.

I doubt that anyone else will be using the filter software “”privoxy””, but if anyone is, I can give instructions on how to work around the image problem.

In the meantime, can everybody resize their avatars so that the longer side is 80 pixels before uploading, please!!!

sounds like so confusing ajin u should not have to do that if pplz didnt stuff things up here that is why i am not bothered with one and i would not want to stuff up the forums hay

I don`t know about other browsers, but after trying for over an hour to work out how to get privoxy to filter the oversized images, I just discovered that in firefox, you can turn off the page formatting by going to View -> Page Style and selecting “”No Style””. The page looks really horrible but all the text is readable! To go back to the usual stylesheet, you go to View -> Page Style and select “”Basic Page Style””. Woo Hoo. Now the oversized avatars don`t bother me so much. 🙂

I am usually very reserved but today I saw an IDIOT flick her cigarette butt out of her car window in heavy traffic. I sided up along side of her put down my passenger window and I let her have it. The side of the road had long dry grass. I really wonder about the IDIOTS who have no idea and no respect for other people. My father, sister, brother in law and some very good friends used to be volunteer firefighters and they used to give up hours of their time to help fight fires and you have people too lazy to put it in the bin. I wonder how she would feel if they refused to save her home if it was burning down. Maybe if she had seen Ash Wednesday the way I did she wouldn`t do it again. I am seriously P!SSED OFF!

i agree with you alice jane. incendi`s pic is SO ott. i wish shed take it down! some of the threads i am really interested in have been put out of sight because of her avatar.

it gets my goat when pplz think they know it all and point fingers and bag other pplz out because of their own insecurities
