Formal fever

Hi beauties,

Do any of you have formals coming up this year? What about your daughters or sisters?
We have a fabulous formal issue beginning next week and we’d love to answer any questions you may have about getting beautiful for the big night.

with love and lipstick,
Olivia x

Make sure to give special attention to your dress. Dress makes the formal amazing. I had an amazing formal and it was very memorable.

I have my formal in 2 weeks and I`m so excited! I just bought my amazing shoes to go with my amazing dress, and hair and makeup and nails are almost organised. The only problem is I`m not sure what to do about a bag. Do I bring a clutch or just have my phone in a nice blingy case? I haven`t been able to find a clutch that matches either my busy blue dress or my nude sparkly shoes, but I`m not very keen on having my phone just there in a nice case. What should I do?

Hey Katrina maybe you could pop your phone in a friend`s clutch instead? Or find a nude clutch to compliment your heels? Equip,Sportsgirl,Colette and Diva could be sources to find a nude clutch. Goodluck! 🙂

All the nude clutches I`ve seen are very different to my shoes, like a different shade and have metallic strips. I think I will pop my phone in a friends if I can`t find one. thank you 🙂

Hi Katrina! What kind of dress are you going to wear? Is it form fitting or like a princess cut?
I was thinking that if it`s loose enough and/or a princess cut you can just have side pocket sewn into it and make sure it has an invisible zipper as well so you`re phone will not jump out of it while you`re up and dancing. It will probably cost you the same if you buy a clutch but at least you don`t have to worry about your phone all the time! Do let us know what you decide! 🙂

I just had my formal. Make sure there`s plenty of time to get ready ie. at least a few hours because I was rushing getting my hair and makeup done due to lack of time. When I looked back to the photos, my makeup was barely there 🙁

    hey liv

loved my formal 2 YEARS ago so no queies i am a beauty therapist though and was considering askin what is the minimum/maximum that parents and students are willing to spend on there school formal on nails and makeup etc…

My eldest son had his Formal in 2012. He pretty much went along with whatever his gfriend wanted. I have to say though that his gfriend was preparing months in advance. Apart from the dress and shoes which she purchased two of, I believe she had roughly $500 for hairstyle, makeup, nails and fake tan. Fairly big budget I thought. My little girl is a long way off her formal , however I am sure she will be just as frantic about hers.xx

My tip: don`t get crazy high heels and make sure that they fit. I stupidly bought some heels off of ebay that were really tall & platforms & a size too small. I spent more time out of them than in then 😛 At least they looked nice.

I actually gave my phone to my boyfriend & he carried it around in his pockets. He actually really liked it, because I`m always on my phone & he gets super annoyed by it, so to have my phone in his pocket & therefore all my attention on him was something he really enjoyed.
As for pains, I`m not really sure, I haven`t looked into it myself!! I usually just try to find a pair of heels that either aren`t too high or have a slight platform to reduce it. I also take them off when I`m sitting down.

    Hi Olivia,
I have formal coming up in a few months! It will be my first formal and I`m helping to organize it. Everyone`s already madly searching for their formal dresses! I hear about everyone dying in their heels after formal, what do you recommend to do to reduce the pain? Also I was wondering what do people bring to carry their phones and belongings because I don`t want to have to lug a bag everywhere I go or else I might whack someone in the face with it while dancing! Thanks!
