Foam/Mousse hair dye
Hi beauties! has anyone tried foam/mousse hair dye? i know there’s one from Nice & Easy, Loreal and Schwarzkopf so far. is the application easy/does the colour show up and stay?
and i was thinking of dyeing my hair a red mahogany colour, will that show up with my naturally blackish brown hair? (normal chinese hair)
thanks 😀

I just bought a non permanent mousse today, it’s just a wash out one that you use when styling hair. I think it’s good for boosting your hair colour or giving it a slight tint. I have only tried on my hand so far but I’ll let you guys know if I like it. It’s called Roux Fanci Full.

So i tried it today and the application was so easy but the colour doesn’t really show in normal light. In sun light though it shows quite well. unfortuantely it didn’t turn out tobe quite a red-brown but more of a purple. But i still quite like it, considering it was only $11 (marked down from $17)

I’ve tried the mousse from both lines and have to say that the Schwarzkopf line isn’t that great at all and doesn’t have great coverage but Loreal’s line is fantastic!!!! Using the mousse has cut my time in half and not messy at all!

I’m in need of a touch-up colour and was thinking about trying one of the foams too. But Mel, you said it was a bit too runny, I didn’t think it would be like that, I was picturing full, foam that doesn’t drip.

Tell us how it goes, kaatieL!
I also have black hair and want to dye it reddish coloured but I’m not sure whether the colour will show up on my dark hair -

I actually did this on the weekend – the nice and easy one. My thoughts: the foam was great in that I could turn my head upside down to get every last but and it didn’t drip in the floor at all but it was very time consuming to get out ceith a normal cream dye it’s really only 5-10 handfuls of dye to massage through your hair whilst a handful of foam is actually only a small amount if dye so I had to keep squeezing out handful after handful. I always use a whole pack if dye mostly because I don’t want to waste bur I left about 1/4 of this as I got sick if squeezing out the foam. I have quite short hair so didn’t need the whole pack
The colour I used was 4RB. I have naturally quite dark brown hair though had some old blonde foils. I was hoping the foils would go brighter red and the rest would be a natural browny red. Well I can hardly notice any red at all though maybe it needs to wash out a bit more. My hair looks darker but it really isn’t that noticeably different – in fact I told hubby I was having a bath on sat night and did it just before I hopped in…he still hasn’t noticed!!
I tried it as well, but I didn’t find the texture to be much like a mousse as it is rather runny, and the smell was a bit yuck, but it was pretty effective with the results 🙂

Cool how it doesn’t drip! I’m probably going to buy Schwarzkopf Perfect Mousse in 388 (a red-brown) as that’s the only brand that has foam in the colour I want. On the packet it says it shows up quite well on black hair so i’m hoping for the best 😀
