Fingernails Flare! HELP!

Whenever I grow my nails long the nail seems to flatten and flare, there’s no curved shape whatsoever to my nails. They’re strong and everything they just have a horrible shape 🙁
Was wondering if anyone else has the same problem or knows how to fix it. Thanks.

    Have you tried having acrylic or gel overlays? The overlay reinforces the natural nail and might hold it in the shape that it grows back near the cuticle.

    I’ve gone to having overlays because I kept breaking nails off and tearing edges when they were long. The overlays make them strong enough to handle the stupid things that I do to them. 🙂
